(S) Seasonal Door Staff Coordinator
Job Purpose
The Door Staff Coordinator is an events industry professional with experience in contract negotiation, vendor relations, and crew management. A candidate in this role will be prepared to work extensively with relevant departments to identify staffing requirements, organize schedules, coordinate staffing logistics, and provide training to temporary event staff. This position will direct contracted support staff to ensure goals and objectives are met while maintaining event timelines.
Duties & Responsibilities
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
• Negotiate contracts, recruit door staff, align staffing needs with stakeholders, and collaborate with leadership to meet budget goals.
• Maintain accurate records of door policies for events requiring door staff. Work with security to ensure proper door staff coverage and regularly audit schedules for accuracy.
• Assist in designing door staff spaces and creating an efficient check-in/out system for temporary staff.
• Inventory and organize required door staff supplies and processes for the initial provisioning, post-shift turn-in, and daily replenishment of items.
• Work with event accounting and tech staff to secure required software and hardware for credential verifications and payments.
• Create, proof, and order required collateral material for onsite training materials, deliver effective training, and promote a safety culture.
• Liaise with relevant staff to provide quantities and input into door staff uniform pieces.
• Support department administrative duties and projects.
• Reinforce internal and external customer service efforts and attend required staff training and development opportunities, continuing education, and meetings.
Onsite Responsibilities
• Direct and support relevant independent contractors and support staff.
• Oversee and maintain door staff schedules and deployments.
• Verify the accurate placement of door staff through regular communications with stakeholders.
• Engage with temporary staffing agency vendors to ensure accountability of hires.
• Audit venue door sheets and event door policies for accuracy.
• Conduct onsite and pre-shift briefings with temporary door staff.
• Document operational challenges or request assistance.
Qualifications & Skills
Qualifications include:
• Prior experience working with event crew or temporary event staff
• Familiarity with building extensive and challenging staffing schedules and training materials
• Outstanding customer service skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to create grammatically correct documentation in the English language
• Ability to speak in front of large, diverse groups of people
• Highly organized with keen attention to detail
• Confidence in making decisions while working under pressure
• Strong interpersonal skills
Physical Requirements
Frequently required to stand for long periods and move multiple miles daily during the event. Schedules may vary during the on-site period. Manual dexterity is needed for keyboard and computer use.

Work Location & Schedule
The position is in Austin, Texas, from November to the end of March. It has a hybrid work schedule, with three in-office days, two work-from-home days required, and some weekend work. This position may require you to stay 14 days away from home during the event.
