Performance Marketing Lead

Job Purpose
SXSW is seeking a performance-focused marketer to lead the full-funnel campaign strategy and execution for SXSW and SXSW EDU. In this role, you'll plan, launch, and optimize campaigns across paid media, email, and landing pages with a deep focus on testing, conversion, and ROI. You'll work closely with our Content and Partnerships teams to deliver measurable results and scalable audience growth.
Duties & Responsibilities
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
• Plan, launch, and manage full-funnel campaigns across paid channels (social, search, display, retargeting) and email
• Develop segmentation strategies and personalized journeys to drive acquisition and re-engagement
• Collaborate with team members to build high-performing ads, emails, and landing pages
• Lead A/B and multivariate testing across creative, audiences, offers, and user flows
• Optimize landing pages in partnership with the Content and Experience teams
• Monitor campaign performance daily, share data insights, and implement recommendations
• Build campaign dashboards to refine attribution and reporting
• Contribute to budget planning and media mix recommendations based on historical and real-time data
Qualifications & Skills
Qualifications include:
• 3–5 years of experience in performance marketing or growth marketing roles
• Demonstrated success in campaign management across paid digital channels and email
• Experience with tools like Google Ads, Meta Ads Manager, HubSpot, and Google Analytics
• Strong understanding of conversion rate optimization, A/B testing, and audience segmentation
• Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret data and optimize in real time
• Excellent project management and collaboration skills
• Passion for SXSW's mission and a desire to grow our global audience
• Ability to multitask, be agile, and adapt to evolving deadlines and priorities
• Certifications in Google Ads, Meta Ads, HubSpot, or related platforms are a plus.

Work Location & Schedule
The position is full-time and located in Austin, Texas. Core business office hours are from 10 am-6 pm Monday through Friday. You must be available to work additional hours from January through March, including evenings and weekends. You must also be available for the March event, which will have extended working hours onsite.
