Job Purpose
SXSW strives to curate and showcase inspiring, creative and forward-thinking content, attracting the brightest minds in the industry. The Partner Programming department supports collaboration between the Programming and Business Development teams to ensure Session and Music programming presented by Sales & Sponsorship Clients meets SXSW and SXSW EDU standards. The Partner Programming Coordinator assists Clients in the programming of Official SXSW Sessions, SXSW EDU Sessions, and live Music programming for SXSW Special Events, SXSW Music Festival Showcases and SXSW Official Day Parties.
Duties & Responsibilities
Responsibilities
include, but are not limited to:
• Collaborate with Clients across SXSW and SXSW EDU assisting in achieving desired impact and goals while communicating the mission of SXSW with the intent to align efforts.
• Work cross functionally with SXSW and SXSW EDU Programming and Sales departments.
• Liaise with track leads in the Programming department to ensure the integrity of Sessions being accepted as official programming at SXSW.
• Work closely with the Business Development and Account Management teams to define expectations.
• Work collectively with key SXSW stakeholders including Planning, Production, Legal, Event Recording & Licensing, and Sales Operations.
• Review Client Sessions and deliver best practices to SXSW Sales Clients.
• Oversee advancement of all Client Sessions happening in On-Site venues as well as Client produced venues.
• Confirm Speakers and gather signed Speaker Agreements on Conference and EDU timelines.
• Coordinate the time and date slotting for each approved Client Session.
• Proof all session titles, descriptions, locations, and time/date for accuracy before they go live on SXSW & SXSW EDU schedules.
• Assist the Director of Partner Programming in booking live music for SXSW Sales & Sponsorship Clients with responsibilities including,
• Listen to SXSW Official Music Festival artists.
• Pull artist pitches.
• Maintain local DJ/ artist recommendations.
• Identify gaps to iterate on future Partner Programming guidelines and best practices.
• Assist with creation of Sessions & Music marketing assets and speaker communications.
• Manage the Partner Programming Music Intern.
On Site Responsibilities
In addition to the responsibilities listed above, the Partner Programming Coordinator performs On-Site quality checks for Client Sessions across SXSW and SXSW EDU, and assists with Music Partner Programming Clients with an expectation to troubleshoot escalating any issue that should arise to the appropriate senior management where a solution cannot be found.
Qualifications
Qualifications & Skills
• Experience in brand marketing, conference, or event planning.
• Deep understanding of latest trends related to the multiple tracks at SXSW along with knowledge of currently trending companies from Fortune 500 to start-ups across music, entertainment and technology sectors.
• Strong passion for music and live events, including knowledge of current artists (across genres) and music industry trends.
• Possess a proactive, collaborative and organized working style with attention to detail and the ability to multi-task and be creative in a fast-paced changing environment.
• Exceptional written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills with a keen ability to effectively communicate across internal teams and clients.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, Google Docs/Sheets/Slides, Slack, Airtable.
• Must be comfortable maintaining confidentiality.
• Must be a resident of Texas.
Physical Requirements
Frequently required to sit and/or stand for long periods of time, with or without accommodation. Manual dexterity is required for keyboard, computer and office equipment use.

Work Location & Schedule
Position is located in Austin, Texas. Core business office hours are Mon-Fri, 10am 6pm. Must be available to work additional hours from January March to include evenings and weekends.
