Job Purpose
The Email Marketing Manager creates and manages email campaigns to generate revenue, engage audiences, and boost brand awareness. This role involves developing email strategies, analyzing performance, and improving results. The ideal candidate understands email marketing best practices and can work well with different teams to achieve marketing goals.
Duties & Responsibilities
Responsibilities
Include but are not limited to:
• Creating marketing, transactional, and newsletter emails
• Coding custom emails and email templates using HTML/CSS
• Troubleshooting email and CMS bugs
• Following best UX email design practices, including accessible email design
• Sourcing photos using Webdam
• Editing photos, graphics, and other media using Adobe Suite (Photoshop, Lightroom, and Illustrator)
• Editing and suggesting improvements to copy and design
• Creating and segmenting lists of clients based on marketing or sales criteria
• Coordinating with various departments and stakeholders
• A/B testing and smart content
• Review emails for any errors; high attention to detail is needed
• Update and maintain SOPs and other documentation related to emails
• Other duties as assigned by the Senior Director of Marketing
On-Site Responsibilities
• Daily Event Update Emails
• In-app messaging and notifications on the SXSW event app
• Photo sourcing
• Social Media Monitoring
Qualificationsand Skills
• Marketing BA/BS or related degree
• 3 years using HubSpot or similar marketing platforms preferred
• HTML/CSS with a focus on developing emails
• Adobe Creative Suite
• Airtable
• Strong communication skills, including copywriting and grammar skills
• Highly organized and detail-oriented
• Excellent analytical skills
• Team player with a collaborative spirit
• Resourceful and adaptable
• Tenacious and unflappable in high-pressure situations
Physical Requirements
Sitting and standing for long periods are frequently required, with or without accommodation. Manual dexterity is required for keyboard, computer, and office equipment use. Occasional lifting of up to 10 pounds is also required. This position may require you to stay away from home for 10-14 consecutive days during the event.
Work Location & Schedule
The position is located in Austin, Texas. Core business office hours are Monday through Friday, 10 am-6 pm. However, from January through March, you must be available to work additional hours, including evenings and weekends.
