(S) EDU Festival Advancement Coordinator
Job purpose
The EDU Festival Advancement Coordinator works closely with the programming team to produce and execute on a robust festival program for the SXSW EDU Conference & Festival. They support programming efforts including competitions, performances, the film program, and programmatic networking elements. The EDU Festival Advancement Coordinator is key to the programming execution process, working with organizers and participants at each stage to coordinate logistics, support outreach and manage internal databases.
Responsibilities
include but are not limited to:
• Support festival programming efforts for performances, competitions, and the film program
• Assist with asset management and program execution for the SXSW EDU Film program
• Assist with asset management and program execution for competitions, such as Launch and the Student Impact Challenge
• Work with the programming and production teams on coordination and execution of performances and other programmatic elements
• Assist in communications with organizers and participants through main customer service platforms
• Manage program information and compile assets for festival programming as it relates to marketing and external promotion
• Assist in the internal processing, tracking, and logistics for all festival programming
• Support and coordinate programming on site across all venues
On Site Responsibilities
The EDU Festival Advancement Coordinator supports the on site execution of conference and festival programming for SXSW EDU and generally supports the overall production of the event including troubleshooting any onsite issues pertaining to programming and helping registrants and speakers with customer service needs. Additional event support duties fulfilled as needed throughout SXSW.
Qualifications
Qualifications include:
• Self-starter with strong prioritization and problem-solving skills
• Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
• Strong written and verbal communication skills and customer service experience
• Strong attention to detail, copy-editing experience
• Interest/experience in the field of education
• Ability to work within a team dynamic, and communicate in a respectful manner
• Proficient in Google products, database management, Microsoft software, and other technologies
• College degree or equivalent work experience
• 2 years experience in event programming and/or project management
Physical Requirements
Frequently required to sit and/or stand for long periods of time. This position potentially requires being in front of a computer screen for extended periods of time. This position requires you to stay upwards of 7-10 consecutive days away from home.
Work Location & Schedule
Position is located in Austin, Texas. Core business office hours are Mon-Fri, 10am 6pm. Must be available to work additional hours from January March to include evenings and weekends as needed. Schedules may vary during the on-site operational period.
