(S) Conference Programming Coordinator
Job Purpose
The SXSW Conference Programming Department is seeking a Seasonal Conference Coordinator who will strive to ensure that SXSW Conference processes and production implementations are met.
Duties & Responsibilities
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
• Manage a large volume of emails promptly
• Provide timely responses to stakeholders
• Provide administrative support to the SXSW Conference as needed
• Provide exceptional customer service
• Assist with database information processing and maintain records to ensure session content is up-to-date.
On-Site Event Responsibilities
• Oversee programming taking place at assigned venues
• Ensure Conference sessions are running on time
• Track attendee engagement
• Troubleshooting any on-site Conference Programming issues that arise
• Assist registrants and speakers with customer service needs
• Assist with any staff requests if / when shorthanded.
Qualifications & Skills
Qualifications include:
• Experience in a public-facing role
• Team-oriented and collaborative attitude
• Ability to juggle multiple tasks in a stressful environment while maintaining a positive attitude
• Detail-oriented and self-motivated with strong time-management skills and ability to prioritize tasks efficiently
• Ability to think critically to find creative solutions to unique problems/situations
• Strong in person, written, and verbal communication skills
• Proficiency with common business and communication software (Microsoft Office Suite) and apps (Google Docs/Sheets/Slides, Slack, Basecamp, FileMaker
• Experience with professional networking
• Experience in conference or event planning preferred

• Prolonged periods of sitting or standing at a desk and working on a computer.
• Ability to lift to 10 pounds occasionally, as needed.
• Operation of standard office equipment, including computers, phones, and printers.

Work Location & Schedule
The position is full-time and located in Austin, Texas. Core business office hours are from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., Monday through Friday. You must be available to work additional hours from January through March, including evenings and weekends. You must also be available for the March event, which will have extended working hours on-site.
