Part Time Unpaid Internship
Role Description:
The SXSW Business Development & Marketing Intern will be involved in working with different facets of the SXSW Sales Operations team. The Intern will be dedicated to the Sales Operations team and will be assisting with all aspects of business operations. The Intern will also be conducting regular audits, assisting in the organization of Sales Group deadlines, producing blog content, assisting the exhibitions team, and assisting contract management
What you will learn:
• Learn registration processes (transfers, upgrades, in-and-outs of coupon manager, troubleshooting issues, building reports for clients as requested, etc)
• Business Operations and Department Organization
• Event production and operations
• Writing blogs to promote sales assets and bring in new leads
• Reviewing data and conducting audits (SugarCRM and Coupon Manager)
• Assist the Exhibitions Team in execution of overall event logistics
• How to coordinate and manage various types of exhibitions, with exhibitors ranging from 5-300
• Learn about the SXSW Conference and Festivals
• Contract management assistance
Qualifications
Candidates should:
• Have an interest in Sales and Marketing
• Be highly organized
• Have excellent leadership skills
• The ability to work individually or with a team
• Be solution driven
• Have excellent writing skills
• Demonstrate great communication skills
• Have exceptional problem solving skills
• Have some knowledge of Mac computers
• Have time-management skills
On-Site Duties:
• Majority of time will be at the sales help desk assisting with coupon and exhibitor questions
• General help - SFA Happy Hour, Asset Checks, Opening/Closing Parties, Speaker Sessions Help, Exhibitions help
Availability:
10-15 hours a week, ideally three days a week (4 hour days) starting the beginning of October 2019 to beginning of April 2020. Full-time availability during the event is preferred.
