As an Intern, you'll gain a front-row view of how a show is conceived, developed and ultimately produced for international markets. You'll learn how ideas are shaped into fully formed scripts, how projects move through development, commissioning and the greenlight process, and how productions are delivered - from filming through postproduction. Working closely with the development and production teams, you'll be exposed to every stage of the production lifecycle.
Day-to-day, you'll provide hands-on support to a team committed to growth and creativity, with the chance to collaborate across all areas of the department, including development, pre-production, post-production and SPE's wider corporate functions.
Based in our Manchester office and supporting the Head of Production, this role is ideal for someone eager to get their ''foot in the door'' and build a career within a leading international production business, with many exciting projects on the horizon.
What you have:
• Ideally, you have a Media/Film/TV-related degree or equivalent experience, though this isn't essential.
• Good knowledge of Microsoft Office.
• Keen interest and basic understanding of the scripted TV industry.
• Super organised with the ability to flex between numerous projects.
• A positive and proactive attitude.
• Have a strong inclination to take initiative and tackle problems independently.
• Will thrive working in a fast-paced environment with shifting priorities and last-minute deadlines.
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to establish and maintain positive working relationships internally and externally.
What you'll learn:
• Gain insight into what it takes to develop a show and sell it internationally, as well as how shows are produced locally in different markets across the globe.
• Working with the development and production team, you will have the opportunity to see how ideas are formed and sculpted within the company, becoming fully formed scripts that can be turned into productions.
• You will be exposed to all aspects of the production process from development through to commissioning, to the greenlight process, then into production through postproduction onto delivery.
Interview Process (beginning January 2026):
• Initial screening call with Talent Acquisition
• Virtual or on-site interview with the team
• On-site interview with a task at our offices in Manchester
