The Vice President, Corporate Communications, Corporate Affairs is responsible for developing and executing integrated communications strategies that advance Sony Pictures' business objectives, strengthen the company's reputation, and elevate its corporate narrative across internal and external audiences. Reporting to the SVP, Corporate Communications, Corporate affairs, this role serves as a trusted advisor to senior executives, partnering across the organization to develop strategic messaging, manage executive communications, drive media engagement, and lead communications for key business initiatives.
This role supports a broad portfolio of businesses and corporate functions, including Corporate Strategy, Corporate Development/M&A, Crunchyroll, Alamo Drafthouse, Sony Pictures India, and industry relations with organizations including the Motion Picture Association (MPA) and the Alliance of Motion Picture and Television Producers (AMPTP).
Responsibilities
• Develop and execute integrated corporate communications strategies that support Sony Pictures' business priorities, reputation, and long-term strategic objectives.
• Serve as a strategic communications advisor to senior executives, providing counsel on messaging, executive visibility, media engagement, organizational communications, and reputation management.
• Partner on communications for key Sony Pictures businesses and initiatives, including Crunchyroll, Alamo Drafthouse, Sony Pictures India, and other assigned business units and corporate priorities.
• Partner with Corporate Strategy, Corporate Development, Investor Relations, and Legal to support communications related to business strategy, mergers and acquisitions, strategic partnerships, organizational changes, and quarterly earnings.
• Develop messaging and communications strategies for significant corporate announcements, business milestones, leadership changes, and enterprise initiatives.
• Support executive engagement with industry organizations, including the Motion Picture Association (MPA), the Alliance of Motion Picture and Television Producers (AMPTP), and other external organizations, ensuring consistent and strategic messaging.
• Partner on executive communications for senior leadership, including speeches, presentations, talking points, business updates, Quarterly Management Briefings (QMBs), All Hands meetings, leadership communications, strategic announcements, and thought leadership opportunities.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with business, financial, entertainment, and trade media, proactively identifying opportunities to elevate Sony Pictures' corporate narrative and executive leadership.
• Lead the development of high-quality communications materials including press releases, executive messaging, speeches, presentations, media statements, briefing documents, Q&A, employee communications, and other written content.
• Develop and implement crisis and issues management strategies, advising senior leadership on sensitive business matters and coordinating cross-functional response efforts.
• Monitor the external media landscape, industry trends, and emerging issues to proactively identify opportunities and mitigate reputational risks.
Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree in Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, Business, or a related field.
• 10+ years of progressive experience in corporate communications, executive communications, public relations, or corporate affairs, preferably within media, entertainment, technology, or a global consumer brand.
• Demonstrated experience leading executive communications, media relations, crisis communications, and enterprise-wide communications strategies.
• Experience supporting senior executives and managing communications related to business strategy, organizational transformation, earnings, and corporate transactions.
• Exceptional writing, editing, storytelling, and presentation development skills.
• Strong relationships with business, financial, trade, and entertainment media.
• Excellent executive presence, sound judgment, and the ability to manage highly confidential and sensitive information.
• Proven ability to lead multiple high-profile initiatives simultaneously in a fast-paced, complex organization.
• Experience working across global markets and with international stakeholders is preferred.
Salary/Benefits
$202,400 - $245,000 /year USD
The actual base salary offered will depend on a variety of factors.
