Vice President, Creative Director - Creative Content
Sony Pictures is looking for a creative, forward-thinking, energetic & eager individual to join the Global Creative Content team in the role of Vice President, Creative Director. This position reports to the EVP of Global Creative Content. The candidate will conceptualize, copywrite, and direct creative content intended for global marketing efforts through all lifecycles on behalf of Sony Pictures across multiple distribution channels. This role requires collaboration with department project teams and the candidate must be able to juggle multiple projects at one time. They need to be a consumer of film and TV and excited about film and TV marketing to find exciting trends they can shape into original ideas for the department. This is a high-volume, fast-paced environment that has direct contact with high-level executives, filmmakers, and talent so diplomacy, organization, and tenacity are critical attributes for this position.
Responsibilities
• Conceptualize and write funny, creative, culturally relevant original copy for talent and filmmakers for creative content group's projects, which include, but are not limited to media promos, vignettes, digital content, marketing reels, and award materials
• Confidently direct A-list talent and filmmakers to capture and direct premium content
• Thorough knowledge of the theatrical experience, production process and cinematic vision for studio stakeholders and filmmakers
• Oversee, execute and articulate design/creative vision without flaws or clumsiness.
• Lead or collaborate with project teams, post-production, content editors in the creative content group
• Understand marketing and brand positioning while driving complex business and artistic objectives.
• Communicate and collaborate effectively across key stakeholders across various marketing teams i.e., Brand, Social, Advertising, Digital, Publicity, Events, Agency Partners, Talent Relations and more
• Creatively assist in-house editorial in the creation, production, and delivery of content within deadlines and on budget
• Establish positive and trustworthy long-term relationships with filmmakers and talent
Qualifications
• 10+ years of experience in creative content conception, copywriting, and directing at a Movie Studio, Network, Streamer and Movie Trailer Agency with Feature Film Client base
• Exceptional writing skills – Samples will be requested
• Have knowledge of technical details of camera specs and post-production
• Must have superior verbal and digital presentation skills
• A self-motivated team player with the ability to inspire, involve and rally your team or indirect reports as a leader or individual contributor.
• Organizational and exemplary interpersonal skills, ability to pivot and adjust quickly.
• Detail oriented to a fault
• Must have the ability to travel up to 20% or more with active Passport.
• Handle multiple projects, set priorities, meet deadlines and exceed expectations.
• Strategic critical thinker who also has a high attention to detail and emotionally intelligent soft skills are critical, as well.
• Ability to work well in a busy environment where needs and priorities are subject to change.
• Collaborate creatively with both Sony employees and vendors.
• Some Domestic and International travel required
• Excellent communication skills
The anticipated base salary for this position is $181,300 to $247,200. This role may also qualify for annual incentive and/or comprehensive benefits. The actual base salary offered will depend on a variety of factors, including without limitation, the qualifications of the individual applicant for the position, years of relevant experience, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held, and if applicable, the location of the position.
