Vice President, Business Affairs Administration- Sony Pictures Television
The VP Business Affairs Admin is based in Culver City, CA and reported to the EVP Business Affairs. The VP is responsible for highly negotiated TV deals from the compensation process to approving payment/schedules. Directs and controls the business affairs admin team to ensure proper administration of the overall TV term deals, above-the-line talent, development, and pilot-to-wrap of series. Ensures expert coordination between agents, lawyers, accounting executives and production executives. Ensures timely payment to avoid guild related interest or penalties. Oversees all WGA arbitration and credits are satisfied for timely delivery to the networks. Leads a team of 6+ people.

Core Responsibilities:
• Approve payment schedules of the compensation process for confidentially negotiated multiple layered deals based on episodes produced or, if additional season picked up, for above-the-line talent deals, overall term deals, pilots and series
• Analyze and interpret contract language generated from Business and Legal Affairs; determine the method of payment/schedule is correct before sending for final approvals per COFA rules.
• Ensure timely response to all inquiries from negotiators, agents, lawyers, creative personnel, production accountants and production executives.
• Approve overall term deal expense reports, office purchase supplies and producers assistant timecards.
• Work with facilities in finding office space for term deals and getting the office set up with computer equipment, etc.
Requirements
• Minimum 8+ year's experience handling Business Affairs Administration or Contract Administration
• Proven track record of optimizing systems, processes, roles and responsibilities to improve payment time and increase overall efficiency of the department
• Promote a culture of continuous improvement for the business affairs admin team
• Excellent understanding of contract language, structure and interpretation
• Superior knowledge of entertainment industry practices, guilds etc.
• Strong client service skills
• Previous management experience with proven ability to provide specific direction, training and development of direct reports
• Strong organizational and follow-through skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Strong interpersonal skills
