Technical Project Manager (12 month contract)

Overview:
Sony Pictures Entertainment are currently recruiting for a Technical Project Manager (12 month contract) to work with our Senior Technical Project Managers in successfully delivering several small to medium sized projects throughout EMEA.
In addition, SPE is currently undertaking a move of the EMEA Office HQ to a new location within London. There are various deliverables within this move that require Project Management and these need to be coordinated within the overall program of work. As a result, we require an IT Project Manager to work alongside the existing IT Project Management team to manage these deployments within the wider Program of work.
Project management responsibilities include delivering every project on time within budget and scope.
To be suitable for this role you should have a background in business skills, management, budgeting and analysis. You will also be skilled at getting the best out of the people and projects that you oversee and will thrive when planning projects and working with project teams.
Principal Accountabilities:
Carrying out specific tasks to ensure that the project meets the time, cost and quality requirements. This may include but not be limited to:
• Undertaking duties as directed by the Senior Technical Project Managers and/or Head of IT Infrastructure, to support the delivery and implementation of projects.
• Developing project scopes and objectives, involving all relevant stakeholders and ensuring technical feasibility (including draft design and IT costs)
• Ensure that all projects are delivered on-time, within scope and within budget
• Coordinate internal resources and third parties/vendors for the flawless execution of projects
• Ensure resource availability and allocation
• Develop a detailed project plan to track progress
• Use appropriate verification techniques to manage changes in project scope, schedule and costs
• Manage the relationship with the client and all stakeholders
• Perform risk management to minimize project risks
• Establish and maintain relationships with third parties/vendors
• Create and maintain comprehensive project documentation
• Measure project performance using appropriate systems, tools and techniques
• Generate/update regular reports, dashboards, RAID logs and financial trackers as defined by the project and escalate any issues to management as needed
Preferred Qualifications
and/or Experience:
• Previous experience in a similar technical project management role required
• Previous experience in IT infrastructure projects, especially in office moves / consolidation projects, is preferred
• Solid technical background, with understanding/experience of WAN, LAN, Telecoms, Data Centre and Client Computing technologies.
• Must be pro-active and self-starting
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to work as part of a team and where possible assist other members of staff
• Highly methodical and process driven
• Good interpersonal, organisational and time management skills
• Must have excellent client-facing and internal communication skills
• The ideal candidate needs to be proficient in MS office applications including Word, Excel, PowerPoint & MS Project
• Working knowledge of MS SharePoint, MS Visio, SAP and ServiceNow is preferred but not essential
• PMP / PRINCE II certification is a plus
Start Date:
The preferred start date is ASAP. The fixed term contract will be 12 months, with possible extensions.
