SVP, Internal Communications
The Senior Vice President, Internal Communications will lead employee communication efforts by partnering with senior executives to articulate the business strategies, priorities, and core messaging for Sony Pictures Entertainment (SPE). Key clients include SPE's Chief Financial Officer, General Counsel and Chief People Officer. They will be a key member of the Corporate Communications team accountable for development and implementation of internal communication strategies for SPE.
Reporting to the Chief Communications Officer, this individual will have an unrelenting focus on ensuring that internal communication efforts across SPE business units are connected to consistent messaging about SPE's progress towards achieving business strategies and desired culture. This position is based at our Culver City, CA headquarters.
The SVP, Internal Communications will be a creative and innovative leader who leverages the personalities, voices and brands of our executives, communicates core SPE messaging, and taps into channels that capture the attention of our employees. A successful candidate will excel in the following areas:
Analytical Thinking Skills – Ability to understand and assess complex issues and help translate them into clear messaging.
Building Teams - Ability to quickly build and tap into both direct and extended teams with diverse perspectives and talents.
Navigating Ambiguity – Adept at identifying how new information (or the lack of information) may affect key stakeholders including employees, helping to manage change in a rapidly shifting environment.
Developing Relationships – Capable of quickly building relationships at multiple levels to become a trusted advisor to help drive key business objectives.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Collaborate with senior executives, other key stakeholders across the company to create strategies, plans and follow them through flawlessly
• Ensure all internal communications are aligned with SPE's external communication efforts
• Create a cadence of regular internal communications so that employees are informed and engaged and have the information needed to work at their best across SPE
• Articulate messaging that is consistent with SPE's global brand, leveraging social media tools and strategies including social, digital, advertising, marketing collateral, events
• Develop written content aligned to a set of messages that will have memorable and lasting impact in inspiring, engaging and educating our employees
• Leverage a multi-faceted set of traditional and non-traditional communication channels that will inform and engage employees
• Ensure internal communications program has global reach
• Develop and implement formal and informal mechanisms to get a pulse on employee information needs and our success in achieving broad reach and appeal.
REQUIREMENTS:
• At least 10 years of experience across the following disciplines: internal communications employee engagement and/or marketing and branding,
• Must have excellent written and oral communications skills
• Exceptional strategic thinking, project/campaign management and execution skills
• Experience with multiple traditional and non-traditional channel communications and a strong working knowledge of digital communication channels and processes
• Professional expertise with social media and advanced knowledge of various social tools
• Experience with external communications / media relations.
• Self-starter/strong initiative
• Strong relationship builder; works effectively at all levels of the organization
• High influencing skills
• Ability to manage multiple projects with competing deadlines simultaneously
• Demonstrated ability to balance vision and creative thinking with analytical rigor to meet the organizations goals.
• Ability to analyze metrics and draw actionable conclusions
