PROGRAM DETAILS:
Our Emerging Talent Programs, which includes Interns, Trainees, and Finance Rotational Associates, offer unique opportunities for students, recent graduates, and emerging talent to work alongside the teams that come together to create movies, TV shows, and other great experiences. These seasonal, paid assignments provide meaningful and productive work that builds on your experience and develops your skills further. You will be provided with challenging tasks, real-world experience, and many educational and social networking opportunities.
This Summer Internship is from May/June through August 29th (start and end dates are flexible based on school schedules) and all candidates must be able to work 40 hours a week, Monday through Friday in person in the specified office location. This position is ideal for a student enrolled in an accredited college or university interested in continuing their education through professional experience.
DEPARTMENT DESCRIPTION:
The President and Head of Creative of Sony Pictures Television oversee all operations of the television studio, including drama/comedy development, current programming, production, PR, marketing, casting, research, and business affairs. Intern will be exposed to all aspects of the TV production process, and may be able to join table reads, casting sessions, pitch meetings, general development meetings and will work closely with all SPTV Teams.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Assist with daily tasks supporting the President and Head of Creative of Sony Pictures Television
• Work alongside department admins to schedule/set up meetings, greet guests, and help answer phones
• Notate calls and meetings, as well as other misc. tasks
• Engage creatively with our projects, helping to read material, watch cuts, and write coverage
QUALIFICATIONS:
• Enrollment in an accredited college/university for the duration of the internship.
• Ability to write coverage on books and scripts
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Willingness and flexibility to complete miscellaneous tasks upon President and Head of Creative's request
• Strong Organizational skills
• Willingness to take initiative with strong follow-through.
• Passion for film/television
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
• General knowledge of the television industry landscape
