TV Studio Office of the President, Intern – Summer 2023
The Sony Pictures Entertainment Internship program offers a unique opportunity to work alongside the teams that come together to create movies, TV shows, and other great experiences. These seasonal, paid assignments provide meaningful and productive work that allows you to build your resume, experience and develop your skills further. You will be provided with challenging tasks, real-world experience, valuable networking opportunities, and many educational and social opportunities. This Summer Internship is from May/June through Sept. 1st (start and end dates are flexibile based on school schedules) and all candidates must be able to work 40 hours a week, Monday through Friday in the specified location This is not a remote role. A hybrid work option may or may not be available.
DEPARTMENT DESCRIPTION:
The President and Co-President of Sony Pictures Television oversee all operations of the television studio, including Drama/Comedy developement, current programming, production, PR, marketing, casting, research, and business affairs. Interns will be exposed to all aspects of the TV production process, and may be able to join table reads, casting sessions, pitch meetings, general development meetings and will work closely with all of our teams.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Assist with daily duties of the President and Co-President of Sony Pictures Television – primarily working alongside department admins to schedule/set up meetings, greet guests, help answer phones, notate calls, and other miscellaneous tasks. Our intern would also be expected to engage creatively with our projects, helping to read material, watch cuts and write coverage.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Enrollment in an accredited college/university for the duration of the internship, ability to write coverage on books and scripts, previous exposure to rolling calls/desk coverage, excellent written and verbal communication skills.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Previous experience in a fast-paced studio/network/agency work environment, general knowledge of the television industry landscape, passion for film/television
