Intersectional Marketing Intern, MPG - Summer 2019
The Sony Pictures Entertainment Internship program offers a unique opportunity to work alongside the teams that come together to create movies, TV shows, and other great experiences. These seasonal paid assignments provide meaningful and productive work that allow you to build your resume, experience and develop your skills further. You will be provided with challenging tasks, real-world experience, valuable networking opportunities, and many educational and social opportunities while on the lot. This Summer internship is from May/June through mid-August. All candidates must be able to work between 40 hours a week.
The Intern for Intersectional Marketing will work with various Sony Pictures Entertainment Inc. (SPE) departments. The intern will assist with multicultural marketing within SPE and collaborate with other Sony departments in film including: Publicity, Digital, and Media. The candidate must be a self-starter, detail-oriented, fast learner, self-motivated and willing to take on any challenge, big or small.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Attend weekly department meetings
• Assists with planning and execution of publicity efforts, digital influencer activations, promotions, and events
• Supports with department reporting
• Monitor industry trends and opportunity within the multicultural/intersectional space
• Attend internal & vendor meetings and provide detailed notes and summaries
QUALIFICATIONS:
• Proficient in PPT and all Microsoft Office programs
• General understanding of publicity and the entertainment industry
• Enthusiastic about entertainment and passionate about the multicultural/intersectional landscape
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
• Undergraduate student studying in relevant field (publicity or media)
• Demonstrates attention to detail, reliability, and dedication
• Proactive and self-motivated with the ability to multitask as needed
• Fluent in Spanish and English (is a plus)
