Data Analytics Intern, Sony Pictures Television - Summer 2022

The Sony Pictures Entertainment Internship program offers a unique opportunity to work alongside the teams that come together to create movies, TV shows, and other great experiences. This Summer Internship is from May/June through August and all candidates must be able to work 40 hours a week, Monday through Friday.

Sony Pictures Television Research provides insights, analysis, and advisory for all lines of business through both primary research and data analytics. With a global team of over 50 professionals located around the world, we seek to transform the way we do business through 'data-driven' and 'decision-ready' analytical products that drive positive change for our clients and the company.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

The SPT Research, TruthInData warehouse receives data from 46 different internal and external sources such as audience viewership, ratings, financial and other competitor market data. Proper connection of these data sets using master data is essential to extract maximum value from the analytical applications and statistical analysis that sits on top of this data layer.

For the period of the internship, the intern will be engaged in designing the current master data and its relationship to the internal and external sources of data. This design should lead to a prioritized execution plan for implementing the master data connections driven by business use cases and value. We have a sound data layer that is already delivering value to our business. This initiative will provide an opportunity to further innovate and define the enhancements to the master data and its relationships. This is an excellent opportunity to work on the most important, foundational aspect of any data program. It will expose you to the TV studio production business as well as key data engineering concepts.

QUALIFICATIONS:
• Currently enrolled in the field of Computer Science or a Data Science type undergraduate degree program
• Prior experience doing some type of data analysis
• Knowledge of databases, SQL, and data visualization tools such as Tableau
• Possess strong analytical aptitude, intellectual curiosity, and ability to work both independently and collaboratively to solve problems
