Cyber Threat Intelligence Intern, Corporate Information Security – Summer 2019
The Sony Pictures Entertainment Internship program offers a unique opportunity to work alongside the teams that come together to create movies, TV shows, and other great experiences. These seasonal paid assignments provide meaningful and productive work that allow you to build your resume, experience and develop your skills further. This Summer internship is from May/June through mid-August. All candidates must be able to work between 40 hours a week.
The Information Security Group is a dynamic growing team responsible for securing Sony's information assets, services, and the employees that depend on them, to enable trust with customers, stakeholders, and employees and protect their privacy. Our mission is to enable the most effective and efficient management of Sony Group information security and privacy risks, minimizing the frequency and impact of incidents, in order to protect and enhance Sony's brand, competitive advantage and business operations. Within Information Security, the Security Operations team is responsible for Incident Response, Threat Analysis and the day to day operation of cyber security tools.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
We are seeking an intern to join our Cyber Threat Intelligence team to analyze threats to our global operations and supporting the expansion of our open source intelligence (OSINT) program. The intern will be responsible for a project that enables the team to more effectively discover and track threats to SPE and the entertainment sector.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Required
• Outstanding research skills and ability to synthesize information from multiple sources
• Familiarity with information security concepts and knowledge of the cyber threat landscape
• Demonstrated understanding of the culture, politics and conditions of foreign countries in one or more regions of the world
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills and strong attention to detail
• Ability to work independently
Preferred
• Pursuing a Bachelor's or Masters degree in a relevant field
• Experience with data analysis and identifying patterns in large data sets
• Experience with SQL or other query languages
• Basic familiarity with a programming language such as Python, Perl, Java, C/C , etc.
