TV Networks Research Trainee, Sony Pictures Television – Summer/Fall 2019
The Sony Pictures Entertainment Professional Trainee program offers a unique opportunity to work alongside the teams that come together to create movies, TV shows, and other great experiences. These paid assignments provide meaningful and productive work that allow you to build your resume, experience and develop your skills further. This Spring Professional Trainee position is from March to December. All candidates must be able to work 40 hours a week.
Sony Pictures Television's U.S. Networks team is seeking a Trainee for our Research department. The qualified candidate must enjoy working with numbers, be detail oriented, extremely proficient in MS Excel and have a true passion for television entertainment.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Responsibilities
include preparing, analyzing and distributing Nielsen and comScore/Rentrak ratings, learning Nielsen and comScore/Rentrack software, analyzing the performance of Sony's U.S. linear networks, presenting findings in weekly reports, and assisting in the preparation of research in support of program schedule optimization, content acquisitions, and advertiser sales and sponsorships.
In this entry-level television research training role, the qualified candidate will gain experience useful in covering all aspects of the television industry.
QUALIFICATIONS
• Strong proficiency in MS Excel (financial/analytical/research industry background helpful)
• Proficient in MS PowerPoint
• Passion for and knowledge of TV programs from 1980s – early 2000s
• Ability to quickly learn new computer software
• Course work in Research Methods, Statistics, Sociology/Psychology is preferred
• Advertising/Marketing, Accounting, Finance is helpful
• BA degree
