Strategic Sourcing Manager - Production, Post Production & Distribution
The Strategic Sourcing Manager has primary responsibility to deliver value in collaboration with a high-performing team whose mission is to successfully partner with content Production, Post-Production, and Distribution executives across SPE's Motion Pictures and TV lines of business. This will include lowering overall spend, improving profit, improving the time to market, and fostering strategic collaboration with key suppliers for Sony Pictures Entertainment. The scope also involves working closely with stakeholders mainly located in our Culver City Studio location. A focus will be placed on strategic thinking, tangible results, cost savings, relationship management and development, change management, and operating efficiency over a broad spectrum of production, post-production, and distribution spend.
This position will interface with multiple levels of leadership and contributors from various areas of the company including Legal, Finance, and People & Organization. The Manager will report into the SVP of Line of Business Category Sourcing.
Responsibilities:
• Delivering savings across a variety of strategic sourcing initiatives
• Manage category spend and relationships with suppliers
• Work closely with Production, Post-Production, and/or Distribution executives
• Collaborate with a high-performing strategic sourcing team
• Leading multiple sourcing engagements from start to completion
• Setting and exceeding annual cost-reduction goals
• Implementing the seven-step sourcing methodology
• Interfacing and supporting clients and suppliers
• Developing and implementing vendor management programs
• Project management
• Performing cost modeling and market analysis (following models established by Strategic Sourcing) that focus on reducing total cost of ownership
• Structuring projects and negotiations that follow the Sourcing & Procurement ''7 step'' methodology
• Executing deliverables to completion with efficiency, accuracy and robustness
• Supporting inquiries from the internal Strategic Sourcing team and client Senior Executives with financial, supply market, spend and relationship opportunity analysis
• Assessing market conditions and develop procurement strategies that maximize value to Sony
• Participating in professional development activities to keep abreast of current industry best practices and continuously improve professional skills and technical expertise
• Contributing to the development of long-term direction-setting for the organization
Requirements:
• 5+ years of relevant strategic sourcing experience; experience with content production, post-production, and distribution, change management and implementation
• BA / BS required
• Undergraduate Degree in Engineering, Economics, Finance or Business preferred
• MBA strongly preferred
• CPM/CPSM or other similar certification preferred
• Deep understanding of the overall Production, Post-Production, and Distribution value chain
• Experience working with production and/or post-production companies
• Self-starter
• Ability to work independently and pro-actively identify potential areas for sourcing and cost reduction
• High personal integrity and ethics
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Strong project management skills
• Ability to effectively manage senior-level client relationships
• Ability to negotiate strong pricing, business and legal terms and draft them into contracts with minimal legal support
• Ability to logically manage issues and conflicts with suppliers and stakeholders
• Ability to perform make versus buy outsourcing analyses and to develop total cost of ownership models
• Ability to influence others and to act as a change agent within their department and company
• Ability to travel both within the US and abroad to support content production and distribution as required
• Strong MS Office Suite skills required (including, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, Outlook, Project and Visio)
