The Sony Pictures Entertainment Internship program offers a unique opportunity to work alongside the teams that come together to create movies, TV shows, and other great experiences. These seasonal, paid assignments provide meaningful and productive work that allow you to build your resume, experience and develop your skills further. You will be provided with challenging tasks , real-world experience, valuable networking opportunities, and many educational and social opportunities while on the lot. This Spring Internship is from January through end of May and all candidates must be able to work between 15-29 hours a week (flexible based on school schedule).
DEPARTMENT DESCRIPTION:
The Virtual Reality teams mission is to build the business of immersive entertainment with the focus on virtual reality and video games. The Immersive Entertainment, Video Game & Virtual Reality Intern will be an integral part of this team. The intern will get hands on experience with projects and new technologies while learning about the business of an emerging medium.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Learns how to run and maintain the high end VR platforms, and give occasional demos to talent, visitors, and internal executives
• Reviews builds from current productions and gives creative feedback, thoughts and ideas
• Assists on assembling marketing rollouts and decks for upcoming projects
• Tracks new VR content, developers, and hardware
• Research new gaming platforms with a focus on virtual reality
• Help with the production of games and consules
• Creates presentations and designs multiple team logos
QUALIFICATIONS:
• Tech and entertainment background preferred
• Must have knowledge and interest in video games
• Experience in working in either the Entertainment or Tech industry
• Knowledge and interest in VR, AR, and emerging media/technologies
• Interest in interactive media and games
• Relevant coursework and or experience
• Experienced in Photoshop, QuickTime Pro, Adobe Suite and video editing
• Must have graphic design abilities and/or experience
• Ability to work minimum of 20 hours a week
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
• Undergrad student studying relevant field
• Strong interest in video games and gaming
• Passion for creating presentation materials and creative imaging
• Ability to multitask with attention to detail
