Finance Strategy and Transformation Intern – Spring 2020
The Sony Pictures Entertainment Internship program offers a unique opportunity to work alongside the teams that come together to create movies, TV shows, and other great experiences. These seasonal, paid assignments provide meaningful and productive work that allow you to build your resume, experience and develop your skills further. You will be provided with challenging tasks, real-world experience, valuable networking opportunities, and many educational and social opportunities while on the lot. This Spring Internship is from January through end of May and all candidates must be able to work between 15-29 hours a week (flexible based on school schedule).
The Finance Transformation Team is a driving force to keep Sony Pictures Entertainment (SPE) focused on the future. This group partners with various lines of business to streamline processes across the studio, adopt more effective ways of working, and think strategically. The Finance Transformation Team is home to change agents, innovative thinkers, and fearless leaders who have a vision for the finance function of the future.
Each team member has a unique opportunity to impact the future of the studio. This is a place where you can interact with senior executives and contribute to the Finance organization's strategic direction.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
The SPE Finance Transformation Intern will support the design and implementation of our Communication Strategy for the Finance Organization. This is a really exciting opportunity to focus on the human element of business!
• Working directly with the team's Communication Lead
• Identify and assess stakeholders both across the organization and within specific projects
• Create a Change Management Framework for teams to leverage
• Partnering with project leads to think through project risks and impacts related to people, process, and technology, and how to leverage appropriate change management tools and communication channels to address risks and impacts
• Drafting meaningful, effective communications for projects to manage stakeholders and encourage project sponsorship
• Finding creative solutions to market our Finance Vision and promote a collaborative, flexible, change resilient culture within our Finance Organization
QUALIFICATIONS:
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Fast learner, problem solving and analytical skills
• Ability to work independently, multitask, and meet deadlines
• Critical thinker who is unafraid to share his/her opinion
• Advanced skills in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word and PowerPoint)
• Experience with SharePoint design a plus
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
• Preference to those with a strong desire to learn about business communications, finance strategy, project management and change management
• Undergrad studying Communications, Business, Finance, Marketing, Psychology
