Location: Culver City, California
Job Title: Creative Development Trainee
Program Details:
• Full-time, paid trainee position running February/March to May 30, 2025.
• Candidates must work 40 hours per week onsite, Monday through Friday.
• Designed for entry-level candidates or recent graduates eager to launch their careers.
Department Description:
TriStar Pictures, part of Sony Pictures Entertainment Motion Picture Group, develops filmmaker-driven movies such as The Woman King, Matilda The Musical, Happiest Season, A Beautiful Day in the Neighborhood, and Baby Driver. The team oversees projects from pitch evaluation to distribution, working closely with filmmakers, writers, and producers.
Responsibilities:
• Read script submissions and provide written and/or verbal coverage.
• Conduct in-depth research and compile materials for projects.
• Create director, writer, and cast recommendations for development projects.
• Provide administrative support, including rolling calls and scheduling meetings.
• Assist in creating materials such as decks and one-sheets for TriStar projects.
• Support office tasks and supply management.
Qualifications:
• Passion for filmmaking with a focus on feature development.
• Proficiency in Outlook, Excel, Word, and Google Suite.
• Experience handling office phones.
• Strong attention to detail, organization, and multitasking skills.
• Adaptability to fast-paced environments.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Experience evaluating materials (scripts, books, etc.) and writing coverage.
