Social Copywriter - Mel Robbins Show
The Mel Robbins Show is looking for a Social Copywriter responsible for working with the Director, Digital Strategy and Editorial to support in the development of social platforms and long form copy that drives tune-in and creates ''shareability'' for our audience.
The successful candidate for this position has a knack for picking up voice, and writing content that hits deep and connects with our audience. A natural storyteller, the Social Copywriter can blow out a narrative with some initial direction, and produce error free copy in an environment that moves fast, yet
respects the creative process.
Given that this team is unique, the Social Copywriter must possess research skills to determine the best approach as it relates to social media platforms, content distribution channels and optimal link building opportunities. You must also be a team player who is goal oriented and thrives with a fast-paced team
of positive people. The Social Copywriter will have day-to-day supervision from the Digital Executive Producer and will report into the Director, Digital Strategy & Editorial.
This position will be based in NYC and cannot be remote.
Responsibilities:
• Partner with The Mel Robbins Show digital team to bring graphic and video concepts to life
• Work closely with the Digital Marketing Manager and Editor to ensure copy, tone and style are consistent with visual tone and style
• Participate in strategic brainstorming, creative brief development, and creative execution
• Work on multiple projects simultaneously
• Maintain high standards of copywriting and exercise quality control
Duties:
• Stays immersed in pop-culture and translates that to relevant content
• Works quickly in a fast paced environment and develop processes to help optimize the production process
• Write in a range of voices and styles for varied projects with diverse audiences, as needed
• Support the Digital Marketing Manager in social content production, both in short and long form
• High EQ and strong interpersonal skills; a team player, positive go-getter, and all-around good person
• Understanding of how to use and balance emotional and functional content on social media
Skills and Qualifications:
• A bachelor's degree in journalism, media or a related field
• 2-3 years of journalism, social media writing, or digital agency experience
• A deep understanding of digital content, with an appreciation for broadcast practices
• Experience on a television or film set
• A proven aptitude for quick, creative thinking with acute attention to detail within demanding deadlines.
• A keen enthusiasm for and demonstrable understanding of Web trends and technologies.
• A strong understanding of marketing (especially direct marketing) and advertising principles
