Senior Specialist, Diversity and Inclusion
The Senior Specialist will be responsible for managing SPE's enterprise-wide Diversity & Inclusion (D&I) initiatives with specific oversight of the day-to-day operations of the studio's 15 Employee Business Resource Groups. The Sr. Specialist will also provide heavy support for the studio's creative initiatives, including but not limited to, the Diverse Directors Program, Writers Program and EBRG Focus Groups. This role will also be involved with D&I special projects, including research, analytics and industry benchmarking.
Position reports to the SVP & Chief Diversity Officer and is responsible for supporting the diversity and inclusion efforts at SPE.
Responsibilities:
The D&I Sr. Specialist helps support the major D&I Initiatives that strategically align to SPE's business, including:
• Administering SPE's Employee Business Resource Group (EBRG) Program:
• Ensures alignment of all EBRG activities with the principles, values and purpose of SONY.
• Provides guidance and development to the individual groups, assisting with launching new groups in key regional offices and providing strategic updates to senior level management.
• Coordinates EBRG focus groups in support of MPG and SPT content
• Assists groups in identifying collaboration opportunities with other SONY sister companies
• Represents SPE on Sony Diversity Global Platform Meetings
• Manages and coordinates D&I related training for both corporate and production employees
• Project Management: will be asked to lead and manage specific D&I pilot projects and programs, including overall project management, communications, and presentations
• Works with SPE's Procurement and Strategic Sourcing team to run SPE's Supplier Diversity Program
• Collaborates with the Office of Corporate Social Responsibility in identifying and managing community outreach activities aligned to corporate D&I strategy, which includes, but is not limited to, initiatives being led by SPE's Employee Business Resource Groups
• Works in partnership with Corporate Communications to create and market SPE's diversity brand to internal and external audiences.
• Partners with Global Talent to develop initiatives focusing on identifying and attracting diverse professional talent to the organization
• Partners with Analytics Team to ensure D&I statistics and reports are aligned to other metrics
Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or a relevant field, Master's level education is a plus but not required
• Two or more years of working experience in either Diversity & Inclusion or in a relevant business field
• Strong PC proficiency required. Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, PowerPoint & MS Teams
• Demonstrated history of effective project management
• At least 1-2 years exposure to international business
• Knowledge of research methodology including design, implementation and analysis. Able to report findings and develop recommendations.
• Strong quantitative skills. Able to design and conduct research and analysis regarding diversity and inclusion topics
• Familiarity working with domestic and international employee groups
• Experience with Corporate Supplier Diversity Programs preferred
• Ability to work independently and as an integral part of a team
• Strategic partner with proven track record of establishing strong, effective partnerships with staffing managers, executives, and operating units
• High energy and passion for diversity and inclusion
• Creativity, self–confidence, and flexibility
• Excellent organizational, oral and written communication skills
• Excellent project management skills; demonstrated ability to prioritize and multitask in a fast–paced environment with changing priorities
• Ability to maintain confidentiality at all times
