General Summary
The Information Security Program Manager reports to the Vice President, Information Security. The person supports the Information Security Program portfolio oversight including facilitation of prioritization and intake of demand into the portfolio; tracking status of programs and projects across the portfolio; program and portfolio level risk and issue coordination and tracking; portfolio reporting.
The Information Security Program Manager is responsible for ensuring programs, projects and initiatives are defined, planned, tracked and communicated in a consistent manner to senior leadership. This will be achieved by partnering with various leaders within the organization to drive consistency and lead delivery excellence by ensuring compliance with methodologies and best practices. The program manager will be a change leader within the information security strategic initiative to collaborate with executives, stakeholders, Information Security senior teams and team members to better understand and comply with best security practices. This position will connect technology and business domain programs/projects to achieve the highest level of leveraged spend, resources optimization and maximum use of technology platforms.
Additional responsibilities include assisting the Information Security team with defining and updating the project management processes, standards and governance, assisting Project Managers on large projects, contributing to Quality Reviews, and coordinating activities in support of quality objectives.
The Information Security Program Manager is accountable for the quality of the Information Security program portfolio management processes and tools. Project Managers are accountable and responsible for the quality of the data in the PPM system and the time/cost/quality delivery of the project deliverables.
Core Responsibilities
Information Security Program Operations
• Quickly and effectively understand business strategies, challenges and priorities while collaborating with information security functional leaders to identify and plan initiatives to translate these into programs/projects with tactical goals and objectives that are measurable.
• Serve as a resource to Information Security senior team by developing and leading internal subject matter experts and external consultants to achieve strategic and operational objectives.
• Represent the Information Security team in company-wide initiatives for PPM process improvement, system updates and interdepartmental change management activities.
• Support the ongoing reporting of information security program health, risk and issues to executives, stakeholders, department leaderships and relevant project or program manager.
• Partners and shares information with other departments or Sony organizations (Facilities, Global Security, Information Systems, P&O, Legal, GIS&P, etc.) in support of the One Sony initiative.
• Create and maintain program management processes, workflows, RACI for the department. Ensure appropriate communications and awareness for consistent implementation.
Information Security Program Strategy
• Identify and implement improvements to the Information Security Demand Management process. Oversee the financial, operational and administrative aspects of portfolio performance (i.e. contractual, administrative, deliverables, metrics and finances).
• Conduct or facilitate Project Management methodology learning for the department to align subject matter experts to demand management process.
• Work with department functional teams to define and assess ongoing information security program needs. Present program level initiatives that contribute to overall program maturity in operational excellence.
• Collaborate across partners, departments or Sony organizations (Facilities, Global Security, Information Systems, P&O, Legal, GIS&P, etc.) in support of an overall demand management process.
• Develop a Quarterly Business Review framework for each strategic vendor and hold them accountable for delivery metrics.
Information Security Project Support
• Work with functional leads or project managers to support projects that span across multiple functions.
• Insure Company policies and procedures are met when sourcing, managing and maintaining projects or programs.
• When necessary, drive the transition of resources or service providers when standards are not met or accountability is determined to be unacceptable.
Qualifications
Education, Certification & Experience:
• Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience
• Certified Project Management Professional (PMP) and Certified Scrum Master (CSM)
• 7 or more years of experience managing projects, programs, vendors/suppliers, and technology and process implementations.
Knowledge of:
• Knowledge of project and program management fundamentals and PMO practices.
• Familiar with ITIL, Agile, DevOps and demand processes across global organization.
• Familiar with ISO27001, NIST, or other information security related best practice or framework.
• Strong understanding of multiple software delivery life cycle methodologies.
• Information Security System Management (ISMS) principles, process, and technologies.
Skills:
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong problem-solving skills.
• Manage security technology program that span across the globe, including consideration for complex, multi-phased/faceted projects (i.e. integration, application development, process re-engineering, user adoption, communications, and change management).
• Lead cross-functional team efforts and execute project management methodology.
• Deliver projects through Project Management Institute (PMI) standards of dependency-based planning with adherence to time, cost and scope.
• Develop basic Microsoft SharePoint applications and functionality.
• Analyze current operational status and determine appropriate course of action.
• Willing and able to adjust to multiple demands, shifting priorities, ambiguity and rapid change.
• Achieve and maintain optimal operational efficiency via innovation and technical knowledge.
