Sales Planning Manager (Global)

Sony Pictures TV Distribution team based in London have a new role for a Manager, Sales Planning & Operations to support the Director of Pan-Regional Deals with management and coordination of Global deal administration including Netflix, Amazon and other Pan Territory deals with key strategic clients to SPT.
This role will be assisting the Director as a point of contact for Home Office in Los Angeles and will work closely with this team to ensure clear communication and accurate and timely deal management. Key relationships in London include the SVP Digital Distribution and VPs of Distribution in EMEA and working closely with localised expertise of all Regional EMEA offices for Sales and Sales Planning.
The role is part of the Sales Planning and Operations Function and reports into the EMEA Director (Pan-Regional Deals) of SP&O based in London.
Suitable candidates will have established experience of TV distribution – including deal management, EMEA markets and digital distribution trends particularly relating to SVOD platforms and an excellent knowledge of Distribution Rights. They will have excellent communication and organisational skills, previous experience of deal and product analysis and be comfortable managing complexity.
Please note that this role will NOT have any line management responsibility.
Key Responsibilities
The job's most important functions and responsibilities include:
Deal Management & Administration
• Assist the Director in leading the EMEA Sales Planning team with expertise and direction on management of Pan Territory and Global Deals in RPM.
• Assist the Director in leading the Sales Planning team in ensuring all our contractual obligations for EMEA Global Deals are met by deadlines agreed.
• Take the lead in doing SVOD dashboard analysis of global deals, provide local territory analysis of title performance to Central and local Sales teams.
• Create localised one-sheets of all global deals.
• Take the lead in creating a TV Program pricing database for global deals.
• Take the lead on working with EMEA Sales and Sales Planning to ensure relevant air dates are confirmed from EMEA clients, recorded centrally and supplied regularly to LA where required to protect our clients from any pre-emption.
• Manage existing global deals, update RPM as local air dates get confirmed so titles are ready to be start ordered when LA confirm avails dates to the global clients.
• Manage the EMEA calendar to track the workflow of contracts, amendment, notification processes for every deal, client schedules, availability lists in relation to Global Deals.
• Maintain a central record on Shared Drives of all Global Deal materials – Contracts, Avail lists, Schedules, Analysis, Allocations etc.
• Assist with answering field questions from EMEA Sales Planners regarding all aspects of Global deals – including contractual commitments, pricing allocations, budget information, RPM Deal Management, Avails Lists.
• Work closely with LA, RPM team and EMEA Sales Planning group to discuss issues or/and share solutions around Pan Territory and Global Deal Process and RPM system support.
Title Inventory
• Analyse reports for available product working with local EMEA Sales Planners and identify appropriate titles that meet client and sales criteria in order to maintain an accurate record of product to maximise the sales potential.
• Work with Home Office and EMEA Sales Planning on templates for Avails to ensure consistency of information supplied to key global and pan territory clients
• Work with EMEA Sales Planners to ensuring up-to-date, accurate Avails lists are maintained at all times and supplied for Pan Territory and/or Global Deals as per agreed contractual schedules.
• Window management – work with Sales and Sales Planning to maximise window opportunities for all product around our Pan Territory and Global deals and ensure Sales Plans for the territories are maintained.
• Work with local EMEA Sales Planners to identify and package products through their knowledge of SPT's library. Demonstrate their understanding of key points in contracts and able to accurately interpret and codify negotiated media, pricing and rights.
Forecasting & Planning
• Assist the Director in ensuring all Global deals data in RPM /ITSM is accurate and up to date.
• Make sure annual forecasts and ongoing budget adjustments are made in RPM a timely manner by EMEA Sales Planners and in line with Home Office and London requirements.
• Create and provide summaries and updates on Global Deal status, forecasts, revenue - utilising system functionalities, to Sales & Finance within prescribed deadlines
• Attend and contribute to forecast review meetings when required.
Sales Analysis
• Support sales negotiations where required by providing analysis, working with direction from Home Office Sales Planning, Regional EMEA territories and SVP Digital and VP of Sales Planning in London. May incorporate title performance, market / competitor analysis, title tiering.
Qualifications
and Experience
• Educated to minimum undergraduate degree level
• Typically 4 years' experience in a media distribution environment with specific experience of digital platforms
• Strong computer skills, Excel (pivot tables, formula) and comfortable learning new systems
• Experience of deal analysis and financial modelling
• Experience in managing media distribution rights – exclusivity, holdbacks, window management etc.

• Highly numerate with excellent attention to all details – accuracy, presentation and completeness.

• Proactive in contacting London and local office stakeholders to discuss information needed and sensitive to balancing multiple requests and priorities.
• Team player who is willing and able to assist colleagues during busy periods
• Attend and participate in company and department level functions inside and outside of the office.
• Demonstrate an effort to reach out, work and collaborate with resources outside their territory and region.
