This Summer/Fall Trainee position is from May/June through December 13th and all candidates must be able to work 40 hours a week, Monday through Friday in the specified location. This position is ideal for recent graduates or entry-level talent interested in jump-starting their career in a particular field. A hybrid work structure may or may not be available.
DEPARTMENT DESCRIPTION:
Sony Pictures Entertainment's Security, Safety and Sustainability (S3) Division seeks an Occupational Safety Trainee to support our Corporate Safety Program. This person will support the implementation and management of Sony's Occupational Health and Safety Program across its Culver City Motion Picture Studio and nearby office/workspaces.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Assist in promoting safe work practices and safe working conditions in accordance with applicable local, state, and federal industry standards such as Cal-OSHA, NFPA, and ANSI Standards
• Support the Sr. EHS Manager in the execution of SPE's safety programs and procedures across various Culver City sites.
• Perform periodic site safety inspections across Culver City locations to identify safety issues, recommend solutions, and monitor identified corrective actions are closed in a timely fashion
• Assist with maintaining safety records such as but not limited to monthly EHS training tracking attendance, equipment inspections, safety toolbox talks meetings, job hazard analysis, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), safety posters, fall protection and industrial hygiene equipment
• Periodically audit employees training records in Contract Services to ensure compliance in use of tools and/or equipment/and/or work-related operations
Education & Experience
Requirements
• A Bachelor's degree in occupational safety & Health, EH&S Management or equivalent is preferred
• Interested in an occupational safety career
• Minimum of 1-2 years of work experience
• OSHA 30-hour training a plus
• Ability to plan, organize, and follow-up on workflow to meet department goals and objectives
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications including Word, PowerPoint, and Excel
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Proven ability to focus on issues and organize tasks to solve complex problems
• Strong time management skills
• Must be able to climb up to 60' feet on a ladder
• The employee may occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds
The anticipated base salary for this position is $22/hour. This role may also qualify for comprehensive benefits. The actual base salary offered will depend on a variety of factors, including without limitation, the qualifications of the individual applicant for the position, years of relevant experience, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held, and if applicable, the location of the position.
