Media Planning Coordinator
General Summary:
The Media Planning Coordinator is responsible for utilizing GRiPit and/or other planning/optimization tools to populate daily network transmission logs with on-air promotions and other elements to optimize the viewer experience and to achieve pre-determined reach and frequency goals for targeted audiences. The Media Planning Coordinator works closely with Traffic Operations to insure timely and accurate completion of daily logs.
Responsibilities:
• Developing and maintaining familiarity with promotional priorities and available promotional elements to help drive ratings and enrich the viewing experience.
• Scheduling on-air promotions, interstitial, and weekly planning of secondary events to achieve pre-determined campaign objectives.
• Insure proper implementation of promotional elements according to format clocks.
• Updating and maintaining generic and interstitial inventory promo element inventory in GRiPit and/or other planning/optimization tools.
• Providing input to Media Planning & Scheduling Supervisor regarding the development of needed promotional elements (i.e., spot lengths, tracks) & campaign adjustments.
• Proof reading logs to check for errors and adherence to promotional priorities.
• Media Planning coordinator must obtain full comprehension of GRiPit weekly and daily GRP load for the network & markets to gauge effective reach & frequency of demo targets and determine whether a campaign needs to be adjusted from day to day.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
• Detail oriented with strong organizational skills.
• Ability to multi-task and work well under deadline-based pressures.
• Good communication skills; ability to communicate clearly and effectively in English & Spanish.
• Have a clear understanding of promotional terms, formats, and on-air look.
• Knowledge of media math fundamentals (reach, frequency, GRPs, ratings, etc.).
• Knowledge of local media and entertainment landscape (broadcast, cable, OTT).
• Ability to work effectively with uncertainty/changing environments.
• Strong team orientation and interpersonal skills.
Experience:
• 1-2 years media industry experience required in programming, media planning/promo scheduling, research, advertising sales planning/buying.
Education:
• Bachelor's degree is preferred
