Manager, Parking Services
The Manager, Parking Services is responsible for the overall administration of parking & parking facilities at Sony Pictures Entertainment (SPE) Culver City properties, along with direct management of the contract parking services team. This position establishes parking policies, procedures and guidelines; administers parking real estate to meet SPE business needs; develops the parking services roadmap with technology and infrastructure enhancements to improve efficiency; supports intra-lot transportation and mobility programs. This position additionally manages parking service providers and insures quality control and fiscal responsibility. The Manager facilitates special event parking services as needed and is responsible for developing and managing the parking services budget (approximately $1M total annual spend).
Responsibilities
Parking Services, Culver City:
• Responsible for overall administration of approximately 5,000 parking stalls at SPE Culver City properties.
• Responsible for overall management of parking services team, including 1 site supervisor and 25 parking attendants and enforcement staff (900 hrs/wk).
• Design and maintain operating procedures and schedules for all permanent and temporary parking team assignments.
• Develop and update parking team training curriculum.
• Develop, maintain and advise, as appropriate, on parking policies, procedures and guidelines.
• Create event parking plans, develop event staffing deployments and provide cost estimates to customers.
• Research emerging parking technology; establish technology and infrastructure improvement plans to improve utilization of space, improve customer experiences and reduce labor costs.
• Manage ancillary transportation and mobility programs on the studio lot including golf carts, bicycles, and electric vehicle charging stations.
• Maintain professional relationships with parking vendors, consultants and corporate industry peers.
Vendor Management:
• Responsible for overall management of parking service vendors.
• Develop and manage quality control and audit processes.
• Organize quarterly business review (QBR) meetings for major vendor contracts; establish key performance indicator (KPI) metrics; track and report on performance; provide reporting to senior management on vendor performance and status of initiatives.
• Effective demand management of vendors in order to optimize labor efficiency, reduce downtime and underutilized positions, and provide adequate resources at peak business periods.
• Ensure recruitment and retention of qualified, capable talent.
• Engage vendors to provide technology and service recommendations that can improve parking capabilities and efficiency.
Budget Management:
• Prepare and manage budgets for Culver City Parking Services, including annual budgeting, forecasting and mid-range planning (MRP).
• Track ongoing monthly overhead costs and incident related costs.
• Ensure monthly accrual of regular expenses and timely payments to vendors.
• Document deviations from annual budgets; provide forecast updates quarterly.
• Ensure budget and rate compliance of vendors.
Projects and Special Assignments:
• Participate in and manage special projects as needed
• Complete additional tasks and assignments as needed
Requirements:
• 5+ years of relevant experience, within the entertainment industry
• 5+ years of managerial experience
• Bachelors degree in Business or related field
Knowledge of:
• Parking management
• Valet parking standards and best practices
• Municipal vehicle and facility codes applicable to parking facilities
• Parking technology
• Industry trends, products, and services
Skill In:
• Strong organizational skills
• Strong computer skills with standard MS Office software including: Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook and Visio
