Manager, Acquisition, Distribution (South Korea)
Reporting to the Director, Distribution (Korea) and to be based in Seoul, the primary goal of the Manager, Acquisition, is to support efforts to establish, track and drive content value, as well as manage processes/analytics around greenlights, ultimate and related sales tracking.
This role requires strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build strong relationships and will include the following key responsibilities:
• Read and provide feedback on varying materials, including but not limited to, treatments, scripts and books, online contents, web novels, webtoons etc
• Assessing suitability of projects for proposed markets
• Drive greenlight and ultimate process for all series, produced and acquired; provide regular and relevant updates/information
• Working closely with SP&O regional team to model financial scenarios for acquisitions/co-productions to obtain necessary internal approvals
• Liaise with regional teams to identify and maximize value
• Provide ad hoc analysis as needed – for example, sales updates to content owners, and analysis/insights to senior management for new business opportunities.
• Key source of produced and acquired contents information for sales team outside of Korea
To be considered for this role you will meet the following criteria:
• Typically a minimum of 5-10 years' experience in Distribution Acquisitions and/or Media industry experience
• Good understanding of all aspects of licensing, preferably with international experience a plus;
• Track record of building strong relationships in both the production and network companies
• Have a passion for movies and TV series
• Proficient at establishing relationships with cross-functional peers.

• Flexibility, ability to work under tight timelines; willingness to be in the details
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Bachelor's degree, MBA a plus
• International experience a plus
