Fire Marshall
The Fire Marshall is responsible for the prevention of fire and other related emergencies involving Sony Pictures Entertainment facilities on and off lot properties, employees, its tenants, and guests. Primary responsibilities include performing fire prevention inspections, enforcing fire and building codes, enforcing studio fire regulations, providing emergency care, and providing general support for the Director of Fire Prevention and Life Safety in the day to day operations of the Sony Fire and Life Safety Department.
Responsibilities:
• Provides support and acts as primary back up to the Fire Marshal Supervisor on day to day operations of the SPE Fire & Life Safety Department.
• Responds to any emergency at SPE Culver City based properties. Assists in coordination of emergency support efforts from internal (Facilities, Sony Medical, etc.) and external (CCFD, LAFD) partners.
• Routinely conducts fire prevention inspections of assigned productions, stages, buildings, fire protection equipment and fire apparatus. Identifies documents and resolves fire and safety related issues in a timely manner.
Requirements:
• 1 to 3 years of related experience
• High School Diploma
• EMT, California State Fire Marshal Courses, Firefighter I Certification, CPR/First Aid Instructor Certification
• Computer proficiency
• Knowledge of California Fire and Building Codes, NFPA codes, Fire Suppression & Detection Systems, basic firefighting techniques and basic computer skills.
• Must be able to effectively communicate across all levels of production and the company; resolve conflict that could arise from enforcement duties and strive to find solutions to fire/safety code issues faced by production clients.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced organization; be a contributing member to a larger ''studio wide'' team; coordinate and manage multiple tasks without constant supervision; and generate professional looking documents.
