Financial Analyst, Global Financial Operations
Sony Pictures is seeking an analyst to work in the Global Financial Operations, a fast paced and dynamic team The role of the analyst will primarily manage retail and digital accounts assigned. The financial operations team works directly with external customers and internal customers including Sales and Operations to insure complete resolution of customer claims.
Responsibilities:
Account Management
• Provides clear, concise, and timely communication to internal and external stakeholders
• Provides effective efforts in securing payments on or before due date
• Prepare and perform cash application ensuring accurate posting of cash, deductions and credits in accordance with the customer's check remittance
• Research and resolve payment discrepancies
Claims and Deduction Management
• Removes all impediments to payment of outstanding invoices by resolving customer claims and/or deductions in a timely manner
• Performs regular review of open deductions on each customer's account
• Analyze and reconcile deductions to the proper credit memos and offset the deductions with the matched credits
• Providing management with accurate, timely status updates on each accounts assigned
• Escalates issues, or disputes to management for resolution
• Recommends accounts receivable for bad debt write-off
• Contributes to the completion of weekly/monthly Recons and Aging
• Perform documentation review to initiate settlement processes with customers
• Interface with other departments within SPHE to ensure efficiencies are created within the deduction management process
• Makes recommendations for process improvements
• Maintain large volume of data in various programs, spreadsheets and systems
• Assist with month-end close process, including account reconciliations and journal entries
Assist in audits
• Validate customer supporting documents
• Generate reports
Ad hoc request and projects as needed
Requirements:
• 1 – 2 years of relevant work experience is required, within entertainment would be a plus.
• Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or economics from an accredited four-year university
• Advanced proficiency in Excel; experience with SAP, Business Objects/Insight, and JD Edwards would be a plus.
• Self-starter with the ability to prioritize and multi-task.
• Strong critical thinking and analytical skills, with meticulous attention to detail.
• Strong written/verbal communication skills.
