Security, Environment, Health & Safety Communications Intern, CORP – Fall 2019
The Sony Pictures Entertainment Internship program offers a unique opportunity to work alongside the teams that come together to create movies, TV shows, and other great experiences. These seasonal paid assignments provide meaningful and productive work that allow you to build your resume, experience and develop your skills further. You will be provided with challenging tasks, real-world experience, valuable networking opportunities, and many educational and social opportunities while on the lot. This Fall internship is from September through December 13th and all candidates must be able to work between 10-29 hours a week (flexible based on school schedule).
The Security, Environment, Health & Safety Department is responsible for protecting SPE's people and assets around the world. Areas of focus include: Security Operations, Safety and Environmental Compliance, Sustainability, Medical Services, Fire Prevention, Crisis Management and Business Continuity, Parking Services, Production Security and Safety, Global Threat Management, Piracy Prevention, and Security Technology.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
• The focus of this internship is to support the baseline development of the Department's education and awareness platforms intended for the Sony global population
• The project will include strategic planning in developing, implementing and marketing of the safety/security/environmental awareness and education program for global communication
• Intern will be responsible for reaching out to key stakeholders to discuss training topics, assist in develop marketing surrounding each awareness/education campaign and ensure effective roll-out to the global community
• Secondary projects will include refresh and documentation of internal processes and procedures, development of policies and guidelines, assistance with auditing of training and compliance measures, and other projects as needed
• The intern will learn about the role of the corporate security, safety and environmental functions in modern business and will be exposed to the particular risks and challenges facing businesses in the entertainment industry
• In this role, the intern will continue to develop critical/strategic thinking and problem solving skills and gain invaluable experience writing for targeted business audiences
• In addition, the intern will gain project management skills, analyze and understand business processes, and develop solutions that meet diverse business requirements while working in a dynamic team environment
QUALIFICATIONS:
• Excellent communications skills (verbal/written) required
• Attention to detail and ability to work within prescribed deadlines is a plus
• Ability to create business solutions and interpret business needs is essential
• Proficiency in MS Office Suite required
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
• Undergraduate student pursuing a degree in relevant field
• Experience with Photoshop, Visio and other business and creative graphics software, highly desired
• Web design experience also highly desired
