Executive Vice President, International Networks - Sony Pictures Television
Role Overview:
This role will lead the international networks team to ensure we maximize the value of our assets, ensure our strategic approach remains relevant and aligned to evolving media and consumer environment and ensure that the strategy is executed consistently and efficiently across the globe. This role has both the strategic responsibility and operational responsibility for channel management, brand positioning and total profitability of Sony Television channels.
Position could be based in North America, EMEA, Latin America or Asia Pacific.
Responsibilities
Strategy:
• Develop and implement the portfolio, regional and market strategy for Networks group.
• Develop the immediate and long-term vision for the company.
• Creates expansion, development and execution strategy for Networks' business
• Proactively identify opportunities, responding to market changes
Financial:
• P&L responsibility for the networks teams they lead.
• Lead and manage the operations to achieve revenues and operating targets of mid-range and yearly business plans
• Manage the venture's financial resources with great efficiency.
Business Development:
• Develop and implement new business strategies and plans and lead the team to establish new revenue sources in addition to the current broadcasting operation model
• Identify any acquisitions targets and then manage the deal process through to integration.
• Tracks overall industry trends and incorporates into strategic planning
Relationship Management:
• Represents the company and its manages relationships with major operators, content distributors, content producers, advertisers, advertising agencies and other groups around the globe
• Build and motivate a best-in-class management team and organization.
• Drive collaboration among the regional leaders to ensure alignment, strategic value creation and economies of scare are reached for the wider organization.
Ideal Candidate Experience:
• Proven general management experience in cable television, broadcast, or digital media; a highly competent and credible leader.
• Experience leading a channel operation, ideally in a market outside of the US
• Experience in developing and implementing regionally responsive business strategies across multiple international markets.
• Excellent technology sensibilities and an affinity towards new technology and products and experience working in forward thinking and leading-edge categories; credibility within the tech community.
• Experience thriving in a studio environment; a track record of successfully scaling and growing a business profitably.
• Experience working in a joint venture environment, managing multiple partners is ideal.
• Proven programming experience with a focus on content acquisition and scheduling.
• Expertise as a marketer and brand builder; experience developing marketing strategies that drive awareness and viewership
• Credibility and existing relationships within the US creative community - writers, directors, producers
Ideal Candidate Requirements:
• Over 15 years' experience and knowledge, particularly in the media/TV industry
• Bachelor degree, Master's degree preferred
• Excellent business acumen, applied in multiple markets/geographies.
• Strong Leadership, management skills and collaboration skills
• High organizational and leadership skills to unite, encourage and motivate people in the team
• Has creative, proactive and flexible mind-set to explore innovative ways of doing business
• Effective communicator - internal & external stakeholder management critical to success
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a complex studio environment
• Willing to travel extensively
