General Summary
The Executive Director of Sales Planning is an organized and process-oriented administrator of all aspects of the distribution business together with the SVP of Sales Planning. Executive Director of Sales Planning is responsible for supervising the generation and management of availability lists, windows and contracts, acquisition analysis, report generation and sales tracking, software and applications development and the implementation of internal processes and operational guidelines.
The Executive Director provides information to the SVP and becomes involved in most projects of the distribution company and is a direct supervisor to some Sales Planners and Contract Specialists in Miami and/or in the Regional Offices.
Essential Functions of the Job
Supervision of Sales Planners and Administration of the Sales Planning team in Latin America:
• Implementation of procedures and guidelines for all aspects of the sales planning process.
• Ongoing development and adjustment of procedures for the organization of the Sales Planning Department.
• Approving and assuring that all new sales/changes comply with established guidelines (pricing, windows, etc.).
• Reviewing contracts, notifications and amendments, start orders and change orders management.
• Work with V.P. on the changes and procedures surrounding the launch of RPM system.
• Key participant in hiring, training and developing of department team members.
• Improve employee engagement and build a cohesive team.
Commercial Operations:
• Maximizing sales of inventory:Establish a short term/long term sale strategy for all key products (current and evergreens). Ensure sales planning window are set up correct in the system and explore new/optimal window strategies.
• Identifying incremental sales opportunities: utilize drafting strategies to upsell where appropriate. Monitor runs/title performance to relicense titles and identify consecutive windows opportunities.
• Maximize Value of Existing Deals: actively managing pricing tiers/performance triggers. Provide insight and analysis for Major deals negotiations. Provide avails and pricing recommendations.
• Lead Adoption of Tools & Best Practices: establish pricing benchmarks- utilize transactional data to establish pricing benchmarks & utilize cross deal/territory when available. Improve title curation capabilities by adopting recommendation engine tools.
Operations Budget, Mid-Range Plan & Acquisitions:
• Assist SVP in with budget and mid-range plan preparation, analysis, and presentation.
• Provide accurate and timely updates on sales pipeline (non-contracted deals) and reporting to help determine to help achieve revenue targets.
• Implement controls to improve the accuracy of forecast and budgets for the group.
• Provide assumptions for required Ultimates.
• Implement reporting dashboards by standardizing reports on Sales.
• Ensure the proper analysis of all products undergoing acquisition.
• Communicate with 3rd Party providers on the status of sales and payments.
Education and Experience
• Graduation from an accredited university with a Bachelor's Degree in Business, Finance or related field.
• 7 years specialty, 5 years of entertainment experience, 5 years of managerial experience.
• Experience working in Latin America is preferred.
Additional Qualifications
• Deep knowledge of the entertainment industry with particular focus on programming sales and distribution.
• Specific knowledge and experience in deal and contract control, operation efficiency, development of procedures, and financial controls.
• Skills in Management of Information Systems, administration, optimization of organizational structure and resources.
• Fluency in English and Spanish. Portuguese will be a plus.
• Ability to Manage and lead team, train and develop personnel, establish and support regional structure, create open forum for communication.
• Organize time efficiently, maximize resources.
• Strategize, ensuring guidelines and procedures while thinking out of the box, look for new business.
