Executive Director, Production Administration
Executive Director position within Sony's Motion Picture Physical Production group supporting three Senior Executives and the President on Columbia, TriStar, 3000 and Screen Gems projects. Managing Reshoots, Screen Tests and insert units globally, as well as overarching department duties and working towards managing a smaller or lower budget project independently.
Job Responsibilities
• Maintain & distribute Sony Personnel lists for each project to Columbia and TriStar Productions coordinators and crews
• A thorough working knowledge of, & methodology for applying the policies contained within the Production Manual
• Overseeing Pre-Production ''launch'' call with staff coordinators, welcome and introduction to SONY and its departments
• Overseeing wrap call and communication throughout the wrap period to ensure all SONY policies and procedures for assets, documents are followed and completed
• Develop and maintain relationships with POCs, UPMs and all Columbia and TriStar Productions
• Intro to the Shipping, Transportation and Sustainability departments
• Establish, maintain the bridge between production and Studio departments
• Aggregate and maintain HOD availability lists amongst production executives. Ensure the lists are up to date and as current as possible
• Develop and maintain global stage relationships, availability, rental rates, deposit expectations, contract review and negotiation
• Overview of the USA visa entry requirements and process, costs and relationship with Government Affairs
• Primary care-taker of Physical Production's role in the Sustainability and point person for ensuring each production makes every effort to receive the Green Certificate
• Lead Physical Productions efforts to hiring initiatives through internal sourcing and partnerships with ARRAY and other databases
• Oversee and establish Academy's RAISE processes for SONY motion picture group productions
• Partner with labor relations on outstanding issues in post and beyond
• Partner with credits to ensure all crew deals are available for review
• Manage R&D and early pre-production process including storyboarding, pre-viz, concept art and design, and managing the budget
• Meeting and maintaining relationships with foreign film commissions and facility reps to remain current on WW film incentives
• Manage movie magic budgeting and scheduling and cost reporting required.
• Management & working knowledge of all SONY operations, ''systems'' and platforms, for e.g. Scenechronize, Ci platform
• Meeting and maintaining relationships with service companies globally
Physical Production Controller responsible for wrapping and tracking of assets and sets for each project, the requisite inventories to ensure proper record keeping for the studio's files
• Warehouse rental for local storage, return of assets to SPE storage
• Hiring company / crew to strike show storage globally
• Sale of Assets (working with PAM team)
REQUIREMENTS:
• A minimum of 5 years of work experience, experience in entertainment is preferred
• Ability to work a flexible schedule, frequent overtime may be required
• Broad understanding of visa/entry requirements at any shooting locale
• Excellent computer skills specifically Word, Excel, working knowledge of PowerPoint, Keynote, working knowledge of audio, video, and image files.
• Strong communication, interpersonal and organizational skills
• Demonstrates high problem-solving skills and be able to proactively troubleshoot
• To perform efficiently, accuracy and attention to detail required
• Must be able to work independently and multitask with ease
• Must be able to work well under pressure and with tight deadlines
