The Sony Pictures Television Creative Center is looking for an Executive Director, Editorial Publishing to oversee the rapidly-growing digital content marketing teams responsible for Jeopardy! and Wheel of Fortune's owned digital channels. This position, which will help leadership shape the strategic and creative content vision for the publishing team, reports to the Vice President, Brand Strategy, Game Shows and leads a team of 8.
The ideal candidate is an entrepreneurial thinker who is passionate about the intersection of content/ storytelling, audience growth and technology. They know how to combine all of the above to create innovative, best-in-class digital storytelling that fuels business growth. This person will bravely push creative boundaries while also keeping the legacy of both shows in mind. They must be skilled at working within a nuanced legacy corporate business while also being able to clearly communicate the how and why of their ideas, connecting them to business success and creative integrity and ultimately getting them over the line. Additionally, the ideal Executive Director, Editorial Publishing is experienced at leading a high-volume content team - ideally within a newsroom or for an entertainment-adjacent or high-profile consumer-facing brand.
The Executive Director will oversee the team responsible for all content publishing & marketing storytelling initiatives across WheelofFortune.com, Jeopardy.com, promotional and editorial newsletters and multi-platform subsidiaries: Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, GIPHY, TikTok, YouTube and emerging platforms. With an understanding of both businesses and show/ division leadership goals, the Executive Director will set the overarching strategic vision for the digital content direction of each show, mapping out monthly/quarterly/annual audience KPIs in order to enact the initiatives required to meet/ exceed these gpals.
In addition to being a subject matter expert in digital and social content creation and the tools, analytics systems and acumen required to turn a publishing operation into a business, the ideal candidate also thrives at being a people manager and leader. They are experienced and confident at leading a team at scale and is invested in mentoring a cross-functional team of high performers who generate exceptional results.
Not only will the ideal candidate help shape the strategy and p&l for each show's digital content business, but the ideal Executive Director will also be a resource of information and ideas on the digital content marketplace, innovations within it and how new thinking can be implemented to grow digital audiences for Wheel of Fortune and Jeopardy!.
This person displays executive maturity, is able to generate trust among the team and with external stakeholders and is a clear, level-headed communicator who is adept at generating results through organizational influence.
Major Duties and Responsibilities:
• Act as the digital content marketing team lead for Jeopardy! and Wheel of Fortune, leading market strategy for regular season lifecycle, tentpoles and marketing/ promotional initiatives designed to drive buzz and viewership and grow new high value digital audience segments.
• Develop in-depth commercial and organic digital audience growth strategy across owned channels for Jeopardy! and Wheel of Fortune; socialize goals and plans with key partners including executives, show producers and Creative Center teams.
• Continually synthesize data and evaluate strategy to align with consumers and fans. Identify where Jeopardy! and Wheel of Fortune should go next.
• Drive change, growth and audience through content marketing and creative storytelling. Respond to new opportunities with speed and astuteness, continually identifying and evaluating new opportunities and their potential yield.
• Act as a key point of contact with show leadership and executive teams.
• Work with internal and external teams to align early on overall strategy and goals.
• Advocate for the Jeopardy! and Wheel of Fortune Creative Center teams and the Creative Center as a whole, cross-functionally.
• Is a natural relationship builder without ego, focusing on collaboration and elevating the bar.

Work Experience Requirements
• 10+ years of digital journalism/ multi-platform content creation experience with 4+ years leadership and people management experience.
• Proven experience and direct responsibility managing a high-volume digital publishing pipeline across multiple touchpoints.
• Expertise leading multidisciplinary teams.
• Expertise partnering directly with talent, producers and executives on campaign and evergreen content marketing.
• Comfortable and skilled at presenting ideas simply and across a range of perspectives: from creative to quantitative.
• Utilizes strategy and analytics in the problem solving and decision making process
• Experience in brand partnerships, giveaways, promotions, activations and integrations with internal teams and third parties, including ecommerce, experiential marketing and partner placements.
• Deep expertise of social platforms, owned digital content marketing and analytics toolsets and performance marketing tactics and best practices.
• Experience interviewing/ working directly with talent, talent-representation and being on shoots, sets and red carpets. Is comfortable and able to act as a representative of Jeopardy! and Wheel of Fortune in high-profile entertainment settings.
• A track record of creating multi-platform digital content that is shared, consumed and enjoyed.
• An experience-based understanding of how content marketing draws in and engages audiences and drives trackable/measurable business goals.
Desirable Requirements
Ability to work flexible hours.
Digital newsroom/ journalism and/or entertainment brand content marketing experience a must.
Entertainment journalism/brand experience a plus.
Education

Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
