Sony Pictures Entertainment strives to create a premier People & Organisation team who support approximately 1000 employees across Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA). This role leads on embedding our Diversity and Inclusion Strategy, performance coaching, learning curricula and development planning for all our business entities across EMEA including Theatrical, Home Entertainment, TV Production, TV Networks, TV Distribution and Corporate. Our organisation is one that strives to identify and nurture talent by reaching out to diverse pools, then collaborate with leadership to develop SPE's talent to its fullest potential.
This position has two key areas of expertise: D&I and L&D. The postholder collaborates with the other EMEA P&O Business Partners in identifying and analysing individual, group and organisational performance deficits and development needs, identifying and crafting strategies and programmes to improve talent management. They are responsible for designing and delivering programmes to embed D&I into our DNA, aligning with changing business needs.
Key elements of the role
Evaluate the right D&I and learning and development strategies for EMEA based on the long-term talent needs of the business and strategy of the organisation in order to sustain success. This will be by understanding internal and external macro trends, conducting gap analyses, and developing implementation plans. Act as the lead advocate for all D&I initiatives in EMEA to embed D&I principles in every aspect of P&O such as recruitment, talent planning and data analytics. Increase employee understanding and confidence, including through supporting and developing the employee business resource groups (currently three: AGENDA (Advocates for Gender Equality, Neutrality, Development and Action), Spotlight (focusing on innovation and technology), and EM-Powered (Ethnic Minority-Powered). Work with the Office of D&I in Culver City to contribute to global D&I work and ensure programmes are appropriately tailored for local use. In conjunction with the EMEA P&O Business Partners, foster collaborative relationships to identify and develop learning needs and development initiatives. This role will be responsible for the implementation activities, project management, vendor management, resource coordination and budget allocation. Understand and engage with all lines of business to determine how the P&O Business Partners can best support diverse talent in each area. Proactively identify talent issues before they impact the business by facilitating talent planning and supporting the crafting of individual development plans. Identify potential career paths which would expedite executive development and build talent pools across the organisation, particularly for strategically critical talent. Support the development of the next generation of leaders and help drive initiatives focused on increasing leadership accountability and effectiveness across EMEA. Oversee all coaching and mentoring activity within EMEA, maintaining a network of external coaches and internal/external mentors. Facilitate the matching of coaches and mentors to executives, as needed. Monitor the progress of coaching assignments and ensure prudent adherence to budgets.
Requirements
The successful candidate will have:
• Typically at least eight years' experience, operating in both D&I and L&D spaces, in which time you will have demonstrated the design and delivery of large-scale programmes which have resulted in positive change in complex environments;
• Deep knowledge and understanding of inclusion, role modelling inclusive behaviours at all times;
• A global perspective and the ability to work with diverse audiences and cultures, adapting style in order to effectively communicate;
• Demonstrable self-awareness, adapting to ambiguous situations to deliver against organisational goals;
• Certifications/accreditations in workshop facilitation, psychometric testing, feedback tools and/or coaching;
• Excellent facilitation and presentation skills, with experience of offering development interventions using various delivery methods;
• The ability to effectively manage multiple projects, budgets and suppliers at the same time;
• Established relationships with key D&I industry stakeholders;
• A track record of inspiring others and leading change through building rapport, demonstrating passion, and strong influencing skills;
The postholder must be willing and able to work and travel internationally as needed. European languages such as French, German, Spanish, and Italian are desirable but not essential.
