THE ROLE
Funimation is looking for a Director, Global Content Operations to join our team. The Director, Global Content Operations will be responsible for leading the Content Operations team to define, develop and improve content operations processes for all our 1st party and 3rd party digital content fulfillment. The ideal candidate has experience building teams within digital content operations, can think strategically, and is comfortable working with a variety of 1st and 3rd party platforms/systems while driving forward the success of the broader Content Operations team. Streaming video and metadata, digital advertising, and media supply chain experience is strongly preferred.
Operating across our global markets, the Director, Global Content Operations will lead the successful navigation of a changing digital distribution landscape from linear to direct-to-consumer, and the harmonization of the team's practices, while always ensuring on-time and reliable delivery to our own platforms and customers.
The successful candidate will be self-motivated, proactive, quick-thinking, and able to juggle multiple responsibilities with a strong emphasis on organization and unwavering attention to detail at all times.
RESPONSIBILITIES
• Train, mentor and lead the Content Operations team and position team members as a go to resource for cross-functional teams
• Develop and refine operational processes and workflows in partnership with Global Commerce, Product & Engineering, Business Affairs, Content Programming, and other teams throughout the organization
• Partner with Product & Engineering and Production Studio leadership to ensure relevant content metadata can be forecasted, targeted and reported on
• Develop and maintain operational relationships and provide excellent customer service to all internal and external stakeholders
• Analyze relevant data and create positive feedback loops to drive best-in-class processes and documentation among key stakeholders
• Subject matter expertise and input into product and implementation requirements
• Customer focused administration of digital media distribution environment
• Seamless management of significant changes to digital delivery methods and specifications (e.g. IMF), and the assessment of automation opportunities
REQUIREMENTS
• 10+ years of experience in digital content operations or related experience; streaming video experience strongly preferred
• 4+ years of experience managing diverse, highly efficient, detail-oriented teams
• Prior experience with digital content technology ecosystems required
• Experience in operationalization of complex workflows and systems and process improvement
• Hands-on experience managing business-critical operational processes and driving process improvement initiatives
• Comfort collaborating with business and technology stakeholders to enhance and supplement legacy tools and processes to support innovation
• Ability to adapt rapidly in a fast-moving environment with shifting priorities; candidate must be able to create their team's direction yet balance cross functional needs, reacting quickly, dynamically, and intelligently
• Ability to effectively influence and communicate cross-functionally at all levels; exceptional verbal and written communication skills
• Genuine interest in streaming video, digital content operations, and innovation within the industry
• Ability to work with others: You have excellent interpersonal skills. You're a good listener. You place the success of the company ahead of any particular idea. Proven ability to work across a matrixed organization
• Work ethic: You do what it takes to make a project go well. You are equally comfortable taking personal ownership for a task as delegating it.
