Director, Crackle Plus Content Strategy and Analytics

Position Overview The Crackle Plus Content team is seeking a Director of Content Strategy and Analytics who is passionate about entertainment and who has experience connecting consumers with long-form content in the everchanging digital landscape.
The Director of Content Strategy and Analytics is responsible for viewership optimization through programming strategy, content planning and performance analysis. The Director of Content Strategy and Analytics is a key piece of the content feedback loop, identifying audience trends on the platform, channel, and video level, and constantly adapting to a changing landscape. Success is measured by viewership, time watched, and indirect content revenue across multiple publishing platforms. Qualified applicants have an innate sense of what content will resonate with target audiences while reinforcing the Crackle brand, strong quantitative skills, a strategic mindset, excellent diplomacy skills, a detail- and process oriented approach to problem-solving, and a proactive, entrepreneurial spirit. This role reports to the SVP of Content and is subject to the employment terms of Crackle Plus, not SPE.
Job Responsibilities:
• Lead the network planning and acquisition strategy by evaluating a wide array of content for adsupported streaming across multiple Crackle Plus services and platforms.
• Analyze the performance of all published content for ongoing optimization, by establishing and tracking KPIs.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify growth opportunities through new programming, publishing techniques, and cross-promotion.
• Analyze industry trends, competitive landscape, and internal performance, sharing learnings with the wider group.
• Perform deal analyses and modeling around content strategy, talent valuations, and licensing structures across various platforms.
• Analyze the financial impact of strategic decisions, evolving business models, and special projects.
• Create, manage, and continually update best practices, audience insights, and content planning documentation.
• Drive evaluation, articulation and presentation of key strategic initiatives for senior management.
• Collaborate with SVP and Executive Director of Program Planning to license titles that align with network brand, business strategy, and ROI goals.
• Provide Programming team and functional teams (Development, PR, Marketing, Distribution, Ad Sales) with deal and title updates for premieres, stunts, and event titles.
• Work closely with Corporate Legal business partners to manage rights, contracts, and invoices to ensure contract and government regulatory compliances.
• Proactively research acquisition opportunities, craft case studies and forecasts for high-profile opportunities, and fill holes in network schedules to meet ancillary goals.
• Understand how licensed titles contribute to network brand voice to communicate key messages to consumers.
• Strategize with Ad Sales team on sponsorable content packages and branded entertainment opportunities; manage implementation of initiatives with cross-functional teams.
Job Qualifications & Requirements
• Minimum seven years of experience in acquisitions, program planning, on-air promotions, current series management, or digital content publishing.
• Work effectively in a team environment, both within strategy and with business unit partners/stakeholders.
• Expert in brand development and management.
• In-depth knowledge of domestic and international entertainment landscapes, including studio library offerings, content windowing, and linear programming strategies.
• Strategic, detailed, and creative problem-solver who is flexible and can prioritize in a fast-paced environment with multiple, competing deadlines.
• Analytical thinker, capable of translating data into actionable insights that support short- and long-term objectives.
• Excellent presentation skills.
• Familiarity with web publishing platforms and content management systems.
• Superior skills in Adobe Photoshop, Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint software, as well as Nielsen, Rentrak, ComScore, and Adobe Analytics data.
• In-depth knowledge of the competitive landscape: linear, SVOD, TVOD – including licensing and original content strategies and budgets.
• Superior diplomacy skills.
• A passion for movies and TV is a plus!
