Director, Affiliate Sales
Reporting to the VP of Affiliate Sales, and working directly with the senior regional leadership team, this strategic position has primary responsibility for defining, planning and implementing revenue and content strategy for Television Networks revenue against its channels, marketing services and programming portfolio within Southeast Asia market. Importantly, meeting budgets and targets are an integral part of the role. Need to be determined and innovative/creative in structuring deals that would meet Sony business & financial objectives to grow affiliate sales with focus and to drive revenue across all Sony Television on-air, online and mobile platforms.
Responsibilities
• Develop creative integrated sales proposals, packaging content across platforms which may incorporate on-air, internet and wireless components, to meet clients' marketing and brand objectives
• Responsible for servicing of affiliate accounts, contract renewals, overseeing correspondences with internal departments to ensure fulfilment of affiliate commitments, and identifying potential upsell opportunities
• Knowledge and relationships within the APAC markets, with an ability to tap into the business community to access research/market intelligence
• Evaluate growth initiatives in the television industry and support the regions Pay-tv, Free TV and Digital strategic projects
• Have experience managing digital contents or Over-the-Top (OTT) services and business models
• Participate in the development and execution of social media campaigns to tap into and engage audience interests and support business objectives. Act as liaison and Project manager with digital contents
• Be the conduit point between the sales team and various teams in Singapore where needed
• Ensure optimal trade marketing and PR support are provided by affiliate marketing team in region
• Track market trends and partner developments and provide thought leadership in linear and digital distribution to affiliate sales team
• Collaborate with a variety departments including Legal, Programming, Marketing, Finance teams to ensure all assets, strategies, goals and timelines are met. Work with technical teams to process and seek clearance on commercial and material questionnaires as and when needed
• Establish and maintain key relationship with programming and marketing team for updates on products in the pipeline
• Proactively develop any and all business opportunities and/or channel equity within the country/region; propose and implement new strategies and related strategic programs.
• Represents the company and its values in relationships with major customers, suppliers, commercial and other groups
• Explore, negotiate and exploit distribution opportunities, ensuring that the best deals including sales/sponsorships are achieved
