The TV Creative Center at Sony Pictures is looking for a social media designer in our Culver City headquarters on the historic Sony lot. This role will evangelize the ''One Sony'' philosophy and elevate the brand vision, voice, strategy for all Sony IP that will be pushed globally from this centralized model working with global Creative Centers around the world. The purpose of this position is to provide ideation, creative and subsequent execution in specific service of, but not limited to, International Sales, Franchise, Distribution and Syndication Marketing, PR, Sony Networks across the globe, Sony Global Marketing, Home Entertainment, social campaigns on all platforms. Must master critical thinking, creative strategy and design and be a leader of the department. This position reports into the Creative Director and works closely with Producers, Sr. Designers and Art Directors of the global internal agency.
Major Duties and Responsibilities
75% Ideates strategic design solutions specifically in regards to both Sony original and acquired properties - is a great storyteller. Ideate branding initiatives for Sony Global Marketing that includes servicing global networks. Ideate design solutions for US Networks: GetTV, Sony Cine and Sony Movie Channel. Service constituents from International Distribution Marketing, Ad Sales, Sales Decks, PR, Syndication, Franchise, etc. ideating and executing brand (B2B, B2C, direct to consumer) campaigns and deliverables with a focus on digital production. In addition, Designer must be able to work as a team member, but also be a resourceful self-starter. Must be an effective liason between various groups within Sony Pictures Entertainment as well as external agencies and vendors. Must exhibit strong leadership skills and the ability to see projects from concept through execution with minimal supervision. Designer should exhibit impeccable presentation skills. Must have the ability to work seamlessly with other designers, producers, operations staff as well as external partners and vendors. Highly proficient working knowledge of Abobe Creative Suite, Keynote, PPT required. Proficient photoshop, illustration, and typography a must. AE, compositing, C4D skills a bonus. Proficient knowledge of various social platforms a must as well as proficiency in social workflows and pipelines. Is able to take creative direction and relishes collaboration and growth. Required to meet budgets and quick turnaround deadlines. Agency experience is a must.
15% Designer is a great communicator and is punctual. She/ he maintains an efficient workflow and process and promptly communicates any issues regarding design and production to management. Accurately documents work related information via work orders, etc. Works hand-in-hand with Production and Operations. Manages assets and archives projects accordingly and understands delivery.
5% Exhibit willingness to take on responsibilities outside of her/ his job description and has the ability to respond to business demands in a fast-paced environment. Presents a positive and professional attitude to stakeholders and co-workers.
5% Designer is a great communicator and is punctual. She/ he maintains familiarity with current culture, design and marketing trends, social platforms and the relevance of fans and audiences. Exhibits an innate sense of curiosity.
Work Experience Requirements
• 3-5 years in design and digital production (broadcast, social platforms, print, experiential, branding and sales art) posses' strong layout, typography, retouches photography as needed, strong digital delivery skills, plus conceptual chops
• Mastery of Adobe CC (In-Design, Illustrator and Photoshop) PowerPoint and Keynote. (Premiere, AE, C4D experience is a bonus)
• Ability to manage projects from concept through execution unsupervised and to work under tight deadlines, well organized, a good communicator and team player
• Work quickly and efficiently with a variety of design solutions, while maintaining several projects
• Experience creating design and production across print, digital, broadcast, experiential. Including but not limited to logo design, custom typography and illustration skills
• Partner effectively with internal clients and external vendors to ensure that the work meets creative and strategic standards appropriate to the target audiences and expertly produced and on brand.
• Passionate about original, acquired and library content and global branding initiatives
• Experience in branding initiatives a must. Storyboarding narratives, concept creation and production execution a must
• Experience in editorial, live action, 2D animation, 3D, VEFX, compositing, sonic branding a plus
Ability to work flexible hours.
Strong knowledge of social platform
Bachelor Degree in Fine Art, Graphic Design, Communication Design or Film
Creativity, leadership, ability to think strategically, innovation, teamwork, ability to multi-task,
communication skills, time management and prioritization skills a must

Sony Creative Center is a hybrid internal agency that is a centralized hub for Sony Pictures Television, Sony Global Networks, Sony Networks Games, Global Marketing and International Distribution, PR, Syndication, Franchise Marketing, Theatrical Marketing and Sony Pictures Television Studio.
