Creative Executive II
Sony Pictures Entertainment is a subsidiary of Sony Entertainment Inc., a subsidiary of Tokyo-based Sony Corporation. SPE's global operations encompass motion picture production, acquisition and distribution; television production, acquisition and distribution; television networks; digital content creation and distribution; operation of studio facilities; and development of new entertainment products, services and technologies.
Summary:
The Creative Executive II manages the development and production of assigned feature films. This position will develop and cultivate relationships with industry contacts (i.e. writers, agents, directors and talent) in order to source ideas which will be developed into scripts. This position will function as a resource to the senior staff's film slate, which will including reviewing scripts, flagging directing samples, and suggesting other key players (lead actors, producers, etc.) for Columbia's consideration.
Responsibilities:
• Assist with script development and production
• Manage the film through various stages of production
• Find and pitch new material to senior management with a creative point of view
• Builds and maintains relationships with writers, producers, directors and other talent
• Provides notes on pitches, outlines, scripts, and cuts
• May attend shoots, table reads, and post sessions when needed
• Identifies and pursue potential new business opportunities
• Review and highlight takes from dailies during production on assigned projects
• Attend major film festivals to track emerging talent for the studio as needed
Required Skills:
• 1+ years of relevant experience in Creative Development, preferably in the Entertainment industry or related field
• Bachelor's degree required
• Previous experience overseeing large film projects
• Ability to manage script and film development
• Excellent written & oral communication skills
• Proficient in Mac and PC platforms, with experience using Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Keynote & Photoshop
• Must be detail-oriented with exceptional organizational skills
• Ability to multi-task and prioritize, ensuring all assignments are completed in an accurate and timely manner
• Must be flexible – an ability to work in an environment where needs and priorities are subject to much revision
