The Digital Marketing Coordinator is a core role on the SPT/SPHE Canada Marketing team. He/she reports to the Director, Features Marketing. The role focuses on the creative asset delivery for the Digital and Physical Home Entertainment accounts (e.g. Cineplex Store) Residential VOD (e.g. Bell, Rogers, TELUS, Videotron) accounts and Physical Accounts (e.g. Walmart, Best Buy, Amazon.ca and more), and SPHE creative vendors. It is central to the success of SPHE's key objectives of growing ownership and rental of SPE's major motion pictures and television product.
This role includes aspects of marketing, sales and account-level support. The Digital Marketing Coordinator must demonstrate well-balanced skills in communication, creative know-how as well as strong interpersonal skills that foster efficient internal coordination. This includes owning the creative asset delivery process, pursuing an insight-driven approach to engaging and challenging our sales and marketing team, and external vendors to ensure we are putting the end consumer at the core of our team's initiatives.
Responsibilities
Provide Support to the SPT/SPHE Distribution Canada's Marketing team in all initiatives and activities to meet the division's overall business goals.
Creative Asset Management and Digital Marketing Activities:
• Research and develop deep understanding of how to use SPT & SPHE's B2B Digital delivery asset sites. Service HE clients/accounts, as per their marketing asset requirements
• Develop a schedule for the delivery of creative assets and monitor the flow of materials or resources through the process to ensure on time and on-spec delivery per each digital and/or physical account, and/or media agency vendor
• Support Manager with client/account management (ex. creation of monthly features and tv content PowerPoint decks, key art delivery, social asset support etc.)
• Manage delivery and creation of all necessary digital artwork/assets required by Digital clients (Uploading pack shots and photos to account ftp sites, where needed)
• Oversee the creation, and production of promotional materials (liaise with designers, sales sheets, presentation templates, premiums, etc.)
• Sonypictures.ca page management: Update sonypictures.ca title pages for the home entertainment window; this includes addition of new media retailer click through links and updating artwork post release of new features in the home entertainment window. Build out home entertainment catalogue pages as needed
Shopper Marketing: Physical and Digital Account Marketing Co-ordination:
• Develop solid knowledge of account capabilities - their cross platform, digital strategies and marketing calendars to exploit timely opportunities and link customer strategies with SPE Distribution Canada's goals and objectives
• Gain understanding of merchandising placement with digital accounts to help the Marketing team support SPE's new releases both on-and off-platform
• Assist Marketing supervisor in building and conducting regular product presentations and business reviews with key accounts
• Liaise with internal third-party teams on ONE Sony opportunities to help support cross promotion of SPE new releases (SONY Consumer Electronics, Sony PlayStation, Sony Music)
• Manage updates to the various retail account platforms such as the Amazon.ca SPE Brand Store page with NR features and current tv series
B2B Communications:
• Assist with the execution of a local b2b communications plan across tv distribution and home entertainment. The purpose of the b2b communications plan is to raise the profile of Sony Pictures Television and gain more exposure of our content across clients, accounts and the end consumer.
• Localize and update a Canadian LinkedIn calendar with approved social posts. On occasion, assist with localizing creative for CDN.
Event and Special Projects Support:
• Help organize new release screenings and event coordination with our local theatrical distribution and local SPT/SPHE marketing and distribution sales teams
• Gather team needs concerning new release features premiums: draft lists and communicate orders to premiums distribution company.
• Arrange ordering and delivery of all HE NR Premium Items to clients for gifting, contesting etc.
• Support the 100th anniversary of Columbia Pictures (C100) marketing initiatives – help organize quarterly in-office features screenings
• Assist managers with social postings and content creation in support of C100 initiatives
• Develop skills on new project tracking software: for e.g airtable
• Work on various activities to support the Marketing team with special projects throughout the year
Invoice / Accounting Activities to Support Marketing Team:
• Work with Supervisor to learn cloud-based procurement solutions and invoice submission models such as (SAP, Ariba on Demand)
• Study and learn internal accounting specifics: GLs and local country codes
• Oversee invoice tracking on Excel; submit invoices via internal cloud-based accounting solutions across TV Distribution and Home Entertainment
• Utilize software programs (Office 365, Airtable, etc..) to track invoices and HE Marketing expenses.
Overall Industry, Account and Features/TV Content Knowledge:
• Research and develop solid knowledge of the overall television distribution and home entertainment distribution business.
• Through interaction with home entertainment retail accounts and local TVD/He distribution team members, study and understand respective Digital and Physical account strategies, needs, and opportunities, and incorporate those into daily marketing support activities
• Study SPE's library of features and tv content to familiarize oneself with the catalogue of current and library tv and film product
• Keep a keen eye on competitive activity/developments, building in-depth knowledge of the digital and physical home entertainment space and refining SPHE's marketing support accordingly, where possible
• Maintain up to date stands in social media marketing and creative asset production
• Develop a full understanding of, and align with, Sony governance and standard working practices, strategies & objectives
• Maintain regular contact with U.S. head office and its respective vendors as well as other territory marketing teams to apply relevant international best practices to the Canadian market
• Demonstrate and promote SPE's values
Qualifications
• 2-4 years working in entertainment, digital media, creative production, advertising, strategic planning
• Demonstrable knowledge and interest in the features and tv media landscape
• Passion for film and television content
• Familiarity with entertainment business models
• Understanding of general marketing strategy required
• Knowledge in creative asset production, social media content, media, digital and social media marketing activities
• Excellent communication skills, including presentation development and delivery
• Impeccable attention to detail and highly organized
• Excellent teamwork and cross-functional skills
• High creative content standards and attention to detail
• Understanding of social media content, social platforms and how to optimize performance
• Proficient in Microsoft Office 365
