Coordinator, Animation Artist Management
Sony Pictures Animation produces a variety of award winning animated and family entertainment for audiences around the world since 2002, including the movie franchises Hotel Transylvania, Smurfs and Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs.
The studio released three theatrical features, two series, one short and one direct to home entertainment feature in 2017 which will be followed next by Hotel Transylvania 3: Summer Vacation in July 2018; and the groundbreaking animated feature Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse from the minds of Chris Miller and Phil Lord in December 2018 .
The Coordinator, Artist Management partners with Production Management, Technology, HR, Facilities, and Artistic Talent to foster a working environment conducive to the creative process. They possess an administrative acumen, assisting the Artist Manager with requests relating to artistic capabilities, production needs, workflow management, and other miscellaneous requests.
Responsibilities:
• Supports Artist Manager in all aspects of production crewing and scheduling
• Assists Artist Manager with artist transitions, ensuring smooth and timely information flow to the artist
• Surfaces allocation conflicts to Artist Manager when resource or time constraints compromise production schedules
• Partners with Recruitment to support the day-to-day experience of SPA intern program
• Organizes and conducts tours of Animation Studios as needed
• Lead for new employee onboarding, including creation of Sony ID, obtaining badge, and conducting new hire orientation/campus tour
• Maintains Employee Database and Grouping Database, ensuring hires are added and terminations are processed
• Submits new hire tickets; partners with operations and technology to ensure first day set up is complete for all new hires
• Submits last day ticket to close accounts for employees.
• Maintains updated portfolio links for in-house talent.
• Intake of everyday workplace requests, escalating issues to respective partners in Facilities, Operations, HR, and Technology as needed.
• Organizes shared drive for Artist Management team
• Project management of ongoing team projects with responsibilities, deadlines, next steps and follow-ups
Required Skills:
• Excellent written & oral communication skills
• Strong computer skills (Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Keynote & Photoshop)
• MAC proficient
• Must be detail-oriented with exceptional organizational skills
• Ability to multi-task and prioritize, ensuring all assignments are completed in an accurate and timely manner
• Ability to meet deadlines
• Must be flexible – an ability to work in an environment where needs and priorities are subject to much revision
• Must be a self-starter with a team-player attitude
Required Experience:
• 1 to 2 years of experience working in Production, preferably in an Animation environment or related field (internships included)
• Bachelor's degree required
