General Summary
The primary role of the Business Analyst is to act as a liaison between business partners and IT teams; Act as the subject matter expert (SME) for the business domain and conduct/manage the knowledge transfer with the development teams. Understand, review, analyse, and evaluate business partner needs.
The Business Analyst is responsible for documentation of business requirements based on business needs and objectives. Recommends solutions and ensures business needs are met. This role is critical in decision-making as it gathers detailed requirements from our business counterparts. The role is also very strategic as it is a customer-facing function where the BA's relationship with the business is critical.
The Business Analyst will join a team consisting of high-performing individuals that execute on a broad range of activities, including scoping, requirements analysis, systems analysis, functional architecture, interface architecture, and knowledge management.
This role will focus on the TV distribution & Finance, it will interact with key stakeholders in the TV distribution group and will provide support for the all applications but with a primary focus on Finance. The role will help develop business requirements and will be a focal point for managing application releases. The BA role may provide application services& support and perform project support activities and should be well versed in business analysis and project management disciplines.
Detailed Responsibilities include the following (but not limited to):
• Serve as liaison between Business and IT; translating business needs into functional business requirements. Collaborate with business partner to define project scope and business requirements for small to medium business requests.
• Act as the SME for the business domain and conduct/manage the knowledge transfer with the testing and development teams.
• Document requirements using interviews, document analysis, requirements workshops, and/or other means and Develop user stories and break down requirements into deliverable functionality
• Analyse business problems and identify solutions that meet business goals
• Partner with the Home Office development teams on the design and development process ensuring business requirements are understood and delivered
• Negotiate and communicate priority for new features and capabilities
• Work directly with an EMEA product owner, business stakeholders, designers, developers, to coordinate the building of applications to spec and on time
• Create, maintain, and execute key testing artefacts such as test strategy and test plans
• Drive the overall planning process associated with user acceptance testing
• Maintain functional and technical applications documentation
• Provide day-to-day operations support to business partners
• Excellent ability to relay highly complex information to others and have it interpreted correctly, presenting messages in a way that enhances understanding for large scale complex projects
• Strong ability to consistently anticipate users' needs through an in depth understanding of a users' requirements and desires
• Understand and apply IT standards, designs and documentation standards into recommended project.
• Prepares project documentation like meeting minutes, business process documents and other process workflow diagrams as required
• Work with business partners to develop acceptance criteria and a plan to facilitate user acceptance testing to ensure that the solution meets the business needs.
• Provide regular updates and communicate business concerns or feedback to management team.
• Identify and communicate risks to delivering solutions on time and on budget to the Project Manager; provide support as appropriate to resolve issues.
• Participate with Business and Project Team in planning and executing training programs and/or demonstrations related to the launch of new solutions.
• Providing VIP support in conjunction with and on behalf of the Global Service Desk, acting as a point of escalation for incidents with high business impact
• May be required to assist with Level 2 and/or 3 support in incident and problem resolution
Key outputs include:

Core Responsibilities

40% 1. Business Analysis - Analyse/understand and document IT business challenges; map current IT business processes and 'to be' business processes, determine business requirements, resolve issues which may affect the business process. Assist BRM and ADM teams in developing technology requirements and the corresponding functional or technical, capabilities of a software platform or business application. Good knowledge of one or more functional and/or technical platform architectures, i.e. SaaS, SAP, Middleware, Information Security, Supply Chain, Digital Media, Intellectual Property, Media Production and Distribution, UI Design, Business Intelligence, Sales & Distribution and Financials solutions.
10 % 2. Customer Relationship Management – Manages customer expectations; resolve customer satisfaction issues; train and educate customers on the use of technology; ensure business unit is receiving appropriate and adequate levels of IT services; offer alternate solutions to customer problems (e.g. process changes); communicate IT goals, activities and accomplishments to the business.
10% 3. Project Support - Work with various Project Management teams Globally to ensure that the newly specified process complies with any mandatory Global IT process requirements. Ensure IT business satisfaction with IT processes and products; understand and communicate user expectations.
10% 4. Quality Assurance - Assist in creating test scenarios, test scripts and training media that match the process and functional specifications developed; Analyse results, document problems and work with Project Management teams to resolve any issues that arise. Assist in implementation, rollout and acceptance of new process to the IT business community
20% 5. Operational Support – provide day to day support for business applications and be a escalation point with the business. Provide hypercare support during year end and budgeting season
