Associate Production Manager - Editorial
The Associate Production Manager (APM) oversees the management of one or more front end departments for a production. Departments include Story, Script, Editorial and Visual Development. An APM reports directly to Production Manager and partners closely with the Department Lead. Direct reports are production coordinators and assistants.
Responsibilities include:
• Maintain and oversee the department schedule and budget, making sure deadlines met and milestones are achieved.
• Maintain clear and open dialogue with Production Manager, other SPA/SPI departments and outside vendors. Provide current information to other preproduction departments.
• Update status reports, sequence list and tracking documents for the department.
• Ensure proper preparation for all meetings and reviews.
• Take thorough notes and distribute.
• Manage Editor and Associate Editor assignments and deliveries.
• Manage coordinator or PA for department (assigning tasks, morale building, mentoring).
Qualifications Required
• 3 or more years of managerial experience in feature film production environment. with an emphasis in animation and/or visual effects.
• Working knowledge of the animation pre, production and editorial pipeline.
• Familiarity with all aspects of production management, including resource & schedule management, personnel and performance management.
• Possess excellent organization, verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively with all levels of staff and promote a collaborative and productive work environment.
• Proven ability to work effectively in a high energy, fast-paced, ever-changing environment.
Qualifications Preferred
• Advanced Excel, Photoshop, Flix, Google docs, production tracking software
