Assistant Manager, International Marketing
Role Summary
Reporting to the SVP, International Marketing, the Assistant Manager of International Marketing will provide SPT Home Office support for International Physical and Digital Home Entertainment and TV Distribution business initiatives with a focus on Feature Films.
This will include partnering with Territory and home office internal teams to evaluate available titles, develop strategic direction, carry viable titles through their ultimate releases across multiple distribution windows, share best practices, and maximize overall product portfolio performance.
Core Responsibilities
The Assistant Manager, International Marketing – Feature Films position has the responsibility for driving marketing campaigns for selected feature film across SPT Global Distribution opportunities. This includes formulating and communicating title marketing and campaign strategies, evaluating initiatives against local office and regional P&Ls, the timely delivery of information and marketing assets to local markets, with elevation of key issues to management to help overcome obstacles. The position supports daily communication with territories and internal divisions on title and product information to facilitate necessary home office and local market legal and strategic approvals.
The Assistant Manager will be a pro-active team player who can balance marketing and commercial needs in a fast-moving environment, and will be nimble, open to change and constantly evaluating processes, distribution models and international initiatives to drive growth opportunities, improvements and efficiencies.
Territory Focused Consumer & Customer/Partner Marketing (60%)
• Act as primary marketing contact and intermediary between Territory / Regional Marketing and the Home Office commercial, marketing, legal, operations, publicity, creative services and promotions divisions to expedite international Home Ent and TV distribution marketing activations with all routing and approval requirements.
• Formulates title marketing strategy that includes title positioning, target audience, Home Ent SKU configurations, SPT Partner asset distribution, comparable title evaluations, and incorporates comprehensive details in kick-off and update materials for presentation to local offices.
• Creation and delivery of all required marketing assets with upload and distribution through Runner, PRISM and other SPE proprietary systems.
• Provide contextual direction for local initiatives based on talent, legal and filmmaker contractual and consultation requirements along with consistent product / title communication updates.
• Review local execution of marketing strategies for efficiencies and sharing ideas across regions
• Request and share global best practices for future initiative enhancement and Sr. Management reporting
Department-based Marketing Servicing and Projects (30%)
• Prepare yearly and subsequent quarterly updated product presentations for territory use highlighting all product for the fiscal year. Prepare curated product decks for key partner and client meetings.
• Liaise with domestic Digital Marketing team to enhance global opportunities to connect with consumers through digital tactics and social media partnerships.
• Work with department Directors and Managers to enhance communication efforts for the international marketing team in generating marketing presentation materials for territory offices and other division requirements (including but not limited to filmmaker, content owner, talent and internal presentations).
• Liaise with Programming team for product set up, scheduling and metadata updates.
• Distribute weekly marketing and title updates to Territory and Regional offices.
• Aggregate territory marketing plans (topline) on feature film titles covering multiple release windows- theatrical, home entertainment and TV.
• Manage approval processes for tactics created through the New Digital Distribution team.
• Special ad hoc projects and department requirements travel and expense authorizations, maintaining department guidelines and materials for training new home office and Territory team members.
• Management of Department Intern (when applicable)
Invoicing Management (10%)
• Create and manage the efficient routing, processing, and submission of department invoices and territory chargebacks, with monthly update document tracking and spend evaluations
Preferred Education:
Bachelor's of Arts
Type of Experience:
3-5 years of content marketing management.
1.5 years of proven experience in working collaboratively with marketing and sales teams, promotional partners and external customers.
Proficient user in Powerpoint, Excel, Word, OneNote, Teams
Years of Experience, Specialized Knowledge or Skills Required:
Knowledge of:
Knowledge of Global entertainment marketing in general, as well as Home Entertainment and TV distribution business required. International Marketing experience preferred. General knowledge of publicity, media, retail marketing and promotions – with a demonstrated understanding and program executions within the digital marketing landscape with specialized digital and social media partners.
Skill In:
Excellent oral and written communication skills. Development and execution of marketing strategies. Project management and problem-solving skills for both people and products. Manages multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously, with excellent attention to detail. Experience working cross-functionally and with multiple outside agencies.
Ability To:
• Determine and implement title and marketing strategies across Digital and Physical home entertainment products, as well as with key TV distribution partners.
• Analyze marketing plans, spends and promotions and follow-up with approvals and / or suggestions.
• Organize and present marketing plan information and summaries to Sr. Management.
• Work with different Territory offices and to share ideas and marketing campaigns.
• Positively influence/contribute to improve business as well as process.
