Analyst, Sales Planning & Operations, TV Distribution

The role of Sony Pictures Television Distribution is to sell Feature Films, TV Movies and TV Series to broadcasters, across all media, internationally.
The London based team is current looking for an Analyst, Sales Planning & Operations whose focus will be on three key areas: Deal Management & Administration, Forecasting & Planning and Title Inventory Management and will work across all media - Pay-TV, Basic-TV, Subscription VOD, Free-TV - with a focus on pan territory clients in the Nordics & Benelux Region.
As an ideal candidate you will have strong administration and IT skills, as well as excellent communication and team skills, a deep and broad understanding of the studio business models on product, media, market and client knowledge to support the sales process.
You will also have a background in TV Distribution with a strong interest in and some existing knowledge of the broadcast landscape in Europe.
Key Responsibilities
The job's most important functions and responsibilities include:
Deal Management & Administration
• Track the workflow of contract, amendment, notification processes for every deal, client schedules, availability lists and ad hoc reports
• Ensure appropriate filing of final documents for the above
• Maintain a Regional Deal Tracking Calendar for the team for Client Schedules, supply of Availability list, client notifications etc.
• Set up and maintain deals in Sales & Rights Management systems (RPM & ITSM) and prepare Start and Change Orders
• Manage contractual obligations and ensure all deadlines are met as detailed in the contracts
• Maintain the Deal Log in RPM and ensure it is regularly updated through the progress of deals with the required approvals
• Uphold Sales Planning Procedures by seeking appropriate reviews and sign offs at all times
• Client Support: - liaise with clients on queries relating to deals e.g. billing discrepancies, servicing issues, US Network scheduling changes. Ensure clients have access to Screening Room or that screening materials for content are made available
• Client Support: Develop an excellent working relationship with clients and attend external meetings as required to support Sales process
• Internal Relationships:
1. Liaison with Finance to ensure timely payment and reconcile payment issues. Support Home Office with audits by preparing required back-up materials for each deal
2. Liaison frequently with EMEA Central Team and Sales Analysis & Insights Group to strengthen insights and to support for new and existing deals negotiations
3. Liaison with Research and Marketing to actively support Sales opportunities as well as the deal negotiation & analysis process
4. Liaison frequently with Global Deals Management to maintain accuracy in Deal Management & Forecast Planning on key products in the Nordics & Benelux Region
Forecasting & Planning
• Maintain annual forecast, process changes in a timely manner and keep Director Sales Planning and Sales Teams informed of updates regularly
• Responsible for co-ordinating and entering mid-range plan information for relevant territories & media
• Create and provide summaries and updates, utilising system functionalities, to Sales & Finance within prescribed deadlines
• Attend and contribute to regular forecast review meetings with Territory Sales, Planning and Finance
• Provide consistent and accurate product and market assumptions to support Sales in preparing for regional budget meetings, working in conjunction with Research Department
• Provide assumptions required for Ultimates and support analysis required for uplifts
• Provide Avails by utilizing Sales Presentation tools to innovate commercial solutions
• Maximise revenue for active Volume Deals through proactive tracking of title performance, product windowing, slot utilisation and runs tracking
Title Inventory Management
• Analyse reports for available products and identify appropriate titles that meet client and sales criteria in order to maintain an accurate record of product to maximise the sales potential
• Window Management - Maximise window opportunities for all product and ensure Sales Plans are maintained for the Nordics & Benelux Region
• Establish Window Strategy for Franchise titles in collaboration with the Global Deals Management to balance Global and Local requirements and to maximize Sales opportunities by using actual and future software solutions, i.e. $40m & Saleability Dashboards
Qualifications
and Experience Required:
• Educated to minimum undergraduate degree level
• Typically 2 years' experience in TV Distribution or a similar environment (Media) and ideally experienced on the Nordics & Benelux Region
• Strong IT skills, in particular Excel (Pivot Tables & Formulas), PowerPoint and comfortable in learning new systems
• Fluency in English is essential and other language skills would be desirable
Competencies Required:
• Highly numerate with excellent attention to all details – accuracy, presentation and completeness
• Excellent communication skills: Clear and articulate when speaking with an individual or before a group; confident in voicing their opinion, express ideas, thoughts and concepts and influencing within the Sales and Sales Planning group
• Able to provide information and reports in appropriate format and on a timely basis to key stakeholders
• Proactive, flexible and adaptable – anticipate needs in different situations and takes appropriate action with guidance and on own initiative
• Team player who is willing and able to assist colleagues during busy periods. Demonstrate an effort to reach out, work with and collaborate with resources outside their territory and region
• Excellent listening, negotiation and presentation abilities
